https://store.steampowered.com/app/2433860/The_Shamans_Ark/

When you arrived at the research station, no one met you. The helicopter that brought you here won't return for at least several days. You're trapped here alone, with no contact to the outside world. And there is only IT for many kilometers around. The Forest.

There is not a single living soul around, but something else hides in the darkness. A strange, inhuman creature lurks among the roots of the trees. It knows you're here. And for the first time in a long, long time, it has decided to come out.
 • The world of the game has a life of its own. Events here will happen regardless of your presence.
 • A dense dark atmosphere
 • Hand-drawn graphics combines 2d and 3d.
 • Uncover the secrets of the Forest and the mystery of the station staff's disappearance.
 • Explore the many locations of the Forest. But remember: in the Forest, curiosity can be dangerous.

✦ AI summary

Players praise the game's exceptional atmosphere, unsettling aesthetics, and creepy soundtrack that create genuine dread, especially as the experience progresses. However, common complaints center on slow pacing, particularly the sluggish walking speed and long waits between story beats, which many feel makes the game tedious and could benefit from a sprint mechanic or faster day-night cycle. While the visual design and world-building are frequently cited as standouts, the slow gameplay ultimately overshadows these strengths for many players, making the experience feel drawn-out despite its st

This game is something special. I didn't have very high expecations but the atmosphere is absolutely top-notch. I've played darkwood and this is the first game where it managed to give me goosebumps for extended periods of time. It's incredibly creepy and eerie, only getting scarier as days go by. The gameplay is very simple combat and nothing too special. The enemies are pretty cool and pretty easy to defend yourself against however some have super high awareness which I found a little annoying. The pacing is definitely very slow, I would prefer a faster walking speed and fast day-night cycle. With that said, I personally did not mind too much as I kept finding new places up until day 5-6. This is definitely something to consider whether you want to purchase this game. Overall, if you're in for an incredibly immersive and chilling experience, I would highly recommend this game.

I'm a little mixed in regards to this game. I was confused a lot of the time, the gameplay was slow and tedious and it was hard to get into the story, but the ambience is great, the design of the world is unsettling and you get that uneasy feeling that you'd expect from a horror game. All in all- I'd say it's best to try yourself and come to your own conclusion.
Cute Concept, Clunky Execution

Score: 5/10
The visual style is absolutely gorgeous—all soft colors and quaint animation—and the soundtrack is chill and makes the world feel really peaceful or somewhat scary. For the first hour, I was totally hooked on the aesthetic alone. However, after that initial phase, the cracks start to show, which is why I'm settling on a strictly middle-of-the-road score. You just walk, and the day ends when the invisible timer goes off, which is odd and sudden at first. And if you do nothing, then you've to wait forever for the day to be over. It doesn't satisfy that you were in control and you did something for the story to progress. It's just slow walking for about 4 hours [if you want to 100%]. The story does come together in the end, which I liked as well. Overall, it’s a game with huge potential, but the execution simply holds it back from being truly great. TLDR: If you value only atmosphere above all else, you might enjoy the scenery, but if you're looking for crisp, rewarding gameplay, prepare for some frustration.

3/10 A cool and moody atmosphere which changes as you go. Unfortunately, the story wasn't strong enough to win out over the slow walking pace and the awkward movement. The game gives you a major objective or story beat every day, but it takes very long to get to because of the slow movement. The horror is decent, keeps you feeling interested.
