Blind Descent

Blind Descent is an open-world survival adventure that delves into the unknown realms of the Martian depths. A team of up to four pioneers has been sent for a reconnaissance mission, but what was supposed to be a routine expedition has become a fight for human survival. As exploration begins, the subterranean world reveals itself as a living, reactive ecosystem. It’s a survival and exploration mission deep beneath the Martian surface, where survival hinges on your ability to learn, adapt, and symbiotize. 1. You're the outsider in a mesmerizing and deadly world: Conduct the reconnaissance and find the clues about the missing pioneer team as you delve into the Martian depths. With the help of your AI assistant, explore a living ecosystem that challenges you to grow into it, adapt, and ultimately understand its intricate balance. Every step you take reveals more alien secrets, pulling you deeper into a symbiotic existence or making you find scientific solutions to enhance your adaptability.2. Use versatile crafting to survive: Scan and study the lifeforms around you to gather resources and craft essential tools. Observing how alien creatures interact with their environment can lead to powerful insights. Every crafted item connects you further to the rich, biodiverse alien world, transforming survival into a path to integration.3. Make a reliable shelter as a basis for exploration: A pioneer team lost in the Martian depths abandoned their base. Clear it, make it yours, and improve it to protect yourself from Martian hazards and lifeforms. Vines, fungal growths, and creeping alien organisms react to neglect, overtaking poorly maintained shelters. Your base is a starting point for exploration and coexistence with an ecosystem that has its own will.4. Adapt to alien and unusual environmental hazards and biomes: Face ever-changing threats like underground storms, toxic gases, and aggressive creatures. Success depends on observing and learning. Sometimes symbiosis means turning these hazards into survival strategies.5. Choose your path to adaptation: You are an explorer, and it’s up to you to decide how to survive in an unknown alien environment. Take a scientific approach by crafting tools and equipment that help you and your team endure while preserving humanity. Or become part of the ecosystem through mutations that enhance your abilities and open up an entirely different way of existing in this world. Science or mutation - the choice is yours. 6. Survive as a team: Collaborate with up to three pioneers to gather resources, build shelters, and explore the underground world together. Symbiosis extends to teamwork—your survival depends on the collective adaptation and shared insights of your crew. The discovery of this Martian underground world presents both an unprecedented opportunity for exploration and a significant challenge. The successful completion of this mission will not only uncover the fate of the pioneer team but also pave the way for future expeditions into this hidden Martian realm. Adapt through scientific or biological means to survive.
