About Blon

Blon takes you through a challenging and pixelized side-scroller platformer. Travel through many worlds with just one goal: defeat your mad brother! To beat him and save your family, you will be able to unlock several playable characters, upgrade your abilities and experiment new ones in your skills tree to become even stronger.

You play as Blon, an intrepid, well... blob, whose jealous older brother has just stolen the family treasures. In your pursuit, collect the leaves lost by your brother, and rebuild the family castle to improve your abilities. Can you assemble the family treasures and sabotage your brother's plans?

Key features:

  • Varied levels: from Hell to Space, track your brother's footsteps through 7 biomes with unpredictable environmental effects
  • Unique bosses: each biome is guarded by your brother's lieutenants, who will try to hinder your progress
  • Adaptable difficulty: Whether you want to take on the most hostile of environments, or just relax during a break, you can choose the right difficulty
  • Multiple playable characters: during his quest, other members of Blob's family will join him. Each member has their own strengths and weaknesses, so it's up to you to play according to your preferences.
  • Talents galore: As if that wasn't enough, you can also improve your abilities during your adventure. Dozens of talents will allow you to be stronger, more resistant, richer, more magical...
  • Hidden treasures: complete the challenges presented by each biome to earn weapons and armors

A very relaxing side-scroller runner, which will nevertheless give some challenges to the most relentless players!

Blon, developed by Lazy Kiwi and published by PID Games and Dear Villagers, is a colorful 2D platformer that blends retro sensibilities with light RPG progression and a family-centered narrative. At first glance, it embraces the familiar foundations of classic side-scrolling adventures—running, jumping, defeating enemies, and collecting items—but it gradually reveals more depth through character upgrades, multiple playable family members, and a structured world progression system. The result is a platforming experience that feels nostalgic in presentation while incorporating modern design elements that encourage exploration and replayability. The story centers on Blon, a determined and resilient blob-like protagonist on a mission to recover treasures stolen by his older brother. This simple premise provides emotional grounding without overwhelming the gameplay. As Blon journeys across diverse landscapes to reclaim what was taken, the narrative unfolds through environmental progression rather than heavy dialogue. The family dynamic subtly motivates the adventure, framing each victory as not just a gameplay milestone but a step toward restoring something meaningful. The tone remains…

Not bad for the price.I could stand to have something other than Kevin Macleod music but it still works. I feel the boss time limits just force you to use the skill path,i'd remove that. The gimmicks are pretty fun in each level except the stalactite one, that one is annoying. The game is pretty challenging so keep that in mind. It's like a different take on Geometry Dash

This is a pretty nice game and I feel like I got my money's worth. There are a few issues that I wish were made clear. Like the damage mechanics of some of the bosses seems odd or unclear. Still fun though to just hop on, do a quick run, and hop off to do other things.

Tl;dr - it is an excellent ANTI-GAME (read: a torture device or a performance enhancer) and an awful game. It is a hasty mobile game port that does not work as a conventional game due to serious anti-fun elements (long levels, mouse aiming, no checkpoints, grinding-heavy progression, etc.), though if you use it as your "attractive" alternative for getting less-than-desirable tasks done, it works quite well - you will get more things done than without it. Just do not pay too much for it because torture in generale is abundant AND cheap. Expect a lot of basic design flaws such as the scrolling foreground objects and screen effects hiding vital obstacles such as the lethal pits. The game is about 3 hours long. Most of it is about the initial grinding (for about an hour) of the couple first levels to get your leaf currency production, health and damage upgrades up. With the extended health and the machine gun upgrade, the boss battles become much easier and you can progress at a steady pace from then on. I have no idea what the item carrying weight upgrade does. The game gave me no equipment drops so that is probably the reason. There are not much documentation about the game and…
