Bone N Soul

"Bone N Soul" is one of literally thousands of retro 2D platformers infesting Steam and lowering the average quality of all video games everywhere... and I'm not kidding. Searching for "platformers" on the Steam store page yields over 17,000 results! Is this one of the best of those? Absolutely not. This one isn't even finished and never will be... it was intended to be a 2 player "Metroidvania" where you control either a ghost or a skeleton. Spooky, perhaps, but not exactly a genre gamers have been clamouring for. And the upshot of that is just how badly this failed. Platforming is an old, mostly dead genre, and this lacklustre experience, while it doesn't have an upfront cost, isn't saving the genre... it's no surprise this failed to capture any attention from gamers in the era of immersive 3D gaming. The developers abandoned this 2 years and 3 months ago. It will never be completed. This unfinished game is just polluting Steam and making it harder for gamers to find genuinely, completely made games. The game is quite short, and can be run through in just an hour. I really had some issues getting used to the controls - really don't know why - but after that the game was playable... For the first part I can say that you have to equip the " fireball" to be able to use it - which wasn't the same for the " Soul's possession spell"... The game is almost linear and has some RPG elements in it. You can die very easily but can also revive your team mate... The game mechanics could've been a bit better but still A nice time spender... Тем не менее, Bone N Soul оставляет приятное впечатление и рекомендуется всем любителям мрачных RPG с акцентом на тактические бои. Это крепкий среднячок, который явно заслуживает внимания, особенно если вы ищете что-то отличное от стандартных фэнтезийных приключений.
