About Buildings Have Feelings Too!

Old Pete, “The Dock Yard”, is being demolished. He’s the first of his group of friends to go. It was unexpected and everyone is a bit worried.

Being made of bricks and mortar doesn’t mean you don’t have your own things to worry about.

This ragtag group of friends were there, right from the start, when it really became a city. With them they brought the titans of the industry, hundreds of jobs and hundreds more houses. But the Linen Mill’s not been getting many textile orders come through this year, the Warehouse lost another contract from the neighbouring city and the Old Bank’s having money troubles.

Something’s not quite right. Change is coming. What if they’re next?

Fortunately, you, The Halfway Hotel, are at hand to step in and reassure everyone that things will be ok. But what starts off as small odd-jobs ends up unravelling into more problems, as history moves faster than you can keep up with.

Buildings Have Feelings Too! is an exciting new city-management/puzzle game about buildings and the city they inhabit.

Imagine a city where buildings can walk and talk to one another. Each one has its own aspirations, hopes and fears. Most of the time they are just trying to get along with each other and make it through the day. Grow your city into a bustling metropolitan centre with an array of shops, offices, entertainment facilities and amenities, to help your buildings thrive; or risk them being demolished forever.
  • Discover and equip a wide range of businesses from the Victorian era right through to the modern day.
  • Befriend a range of Buildings, each with their own aspirations, hopes and fears, as they come to grips with the changing world around them.
  • Customise and rearrange your city’s layout by moving buildings and find the perfect combination for your city to grow.
  • Expand across multiple neighbourhoods of your city, discovering new landmark characters and districts.

so many bugs still. I keep having to reload every few minutes. And for some reason, you can't manually save/load game. So if you screwed up big time, you're gonna have to start aaaaallllll the way back to the beginning.

DONT GET THIS GAME - BUGS THAT HARD LOCK THE GAME AND ABANDONED BY DEVELOPER Look, I do Love this Game, the Idea and how they gave the buildings personalities, their Chatter, everything HOWEVER it is totally Buggy. Soooo many Bugs. With the Same Game (Family Sharing) you have different Problems depending on the which PC/Laptop/Notebook you Play IT on. I never had this Problem; it is Strange yet unsolveable this far. I for one cant leave the Tutorial Level. For whatever reason, IT did Not register that the Level sends me to go over the Bridge, so i'm stuck, No second Level gets unlocked. No Access to the Game at large. My streaming Family member Who was so excited about the Game Had the Problem, that the Game randomly threw them Out of a Level into the Main Menu. The Problem? Starting the Level means all Progress from before is lost and you need to start a new. Without being able to skip the talking swiftly, they Sometimes got thrown Out before they reached the Point of Progress they Had before. Moving buildings worsened the amount of Times they got ejected, and asking the buildings for advise did freeze the level sometimes. This gets frustrating very quickly, AS you can Im…

This game is really cute, but I definitely feel like a dummy while playing it. Every other minute I'm shouting "WHY ARE YOU CLOSING??? WHAT DID I DO???" I can never figure out the lack of which requirements make a building close and which ones they are happy to sit and deal without. I am sad I played for 3 hours and didn't manage any achievements at all. I'll probably play more but I might read some tips first. I assume people who are better at city management games will do a lot better than I am. I'm just glad they give you chances to recover after you bungle everything up.

Buildings Have Feelings Too!, developed by Blackstaff Games and published by Silver Lining Interactive and Maple Whispering Limited, is one of those rare indie titles that dares to blend charm, wit, and urban management into something entirely different. It takes the familiar premise of a city-building game and reimagines it through a whimsical, almost theatrical lens where the buildings themselves are the citizens. In this world, structures walk, talk, complain, and dream about progress, giving an entirely new perspective to urban development. You play as one of these buildings, tasked with revitalizing an old city district that’s on the verge of decline. What begins as a lighthearted idea—helping anthropomorphic buildings find happiness—soon transforms into a surprisingly intricate puzzle game that hides its challenge behind charming visuals and personified architecture. The first thing that stands out about Buildings Have Feelings Too! is its presentation. The game is visually delightful, with a distinctive hand-drawn aesthetic that brings character and emotion to every structure. Each building type—whether a pub, an office, a warehouse, or a tenement—has its own personality an…

This is an interesting concept and I want to love this game and play it but so far keep running into technical issues while running it. I would only buy this at the really good sale price point. I got it 80% thankfully so I'm not upset but advise anyone curious not to spend full price. Concerned the game is "dead" as no updates since 2021 and still unanswered forum posts where others run into game breaking issues. Besides that word of caution, the concept is really cute, nice art and music isn't terrible either. The sound effects are nice. I'm intrigued and want to play it and figure it out so will keep poking around at it for now. Good luck!
