About Bump Guardian

Bump Guardian is a casual, real-time deck-building defense game about protecting new life. You play as the Bump Guardian — a living shield surrounding a growing fetus — defending against waves of incoming threats throughout the weeks of pregnancy. Enemies actively advance toward the ring, and it is up to you to stop them before they break through.GameplayEach level is divided into waves. During a wave, enemies move toward the Bump Guardian while you play cards in real time to damage threats, heal the guardian, and stabilize your defenses. Your hand size is limited, requiring careful timing and prioritization. If enemies reach the ring, they deal damage directly to it. The fetus remains protected as long as the ring holds — when it fails, the journey restarts. The pacing emphasizes thoughtful decisions over fast reactions, keeping the experience approachable and calm.DeckbuildingBefore each wave, you build and adjust your deck from the cards you have unlocked. Cards are designed to complement different strategies, such as focusing on offense, healing, or control.Once a wave begins, your deck is locked in — making preparation just as important as execution.ProgressionProgress through pregnancy-inspired stages that reflect the passage of time and development. As you advance, new cards unlock, enemy get increasingly stronger, and strategic complexity increases.Your journey is structured to mirror growth and care, with each stage introducing fresh challenges while maintaining a gentle, supportive tone.Features

As a full-time mum to twin babies, building this game has been my way of exploring themes of protection and growth. When you play the demo or wishlist the game, you aren't just supporting a digital project; you're supporting a mother’s dream to bring her first independent game to life. Thank you for being part of the journey to our August launch!

Bump Guardian – A Wonderful Idea That Needs More Time and Attention I really wanted to enjoy Bump Guardian. The concept of protecting a developing baby in the womb from invading bugs, using a deck of cards to attack threats and heal damage, is genuinely interesting and quite different from the usual incremental games I encounter. Unfortunately, after around 39 minutes of gameplay, I decided to stop playing. Not because I disliked the concept, but because I found the experience itself increasingly frustrating. One of my biggest disappointments is how little the game does with its rather wonderful premise. Each round represents another week of pregnancy, which offers so many opportunities to make the experience interesting, informative and even a little emotional. Imagine small information screens explaining how the baby is developing, or descriptions of why certain cards are relevant. Folic acid, for example, appears as a card, yet there's nothing explaining what it is or why it's important during pregnancy. These little touches could help players feel connected to the baby they're protecting, giving them a reason to care about each passing week. As things stand, I never reall…
