About Defenders of Cardom
Defenders of Cardom is a deck-builder tower defense game. You play as The Squire, who is on a quest to stop The Dark Lord's reign of terror!
Build a starting deck and refine your strategy in order to defend against hand-crafted waves of enemies!
Hone and adapt your strategy mid-level with deck-builder roguelite inspired deck building, which creates varied playthroughs, even on the same level!
Freely explore the world of Cardom in the hub-world, which incorporates RPG elements in order to tell the unfolding story of the Defenders of Cardom!
Meet quirky characters and learn about the light-hearted, slightly satirical, kingdom of Cardom (or not, the story is totally optional).
Every level has its own unique boss, map, waves, and sometimes even mechanics! Each level provides a fresh experience, whether it be with the level-exclusive boss fight, or interactable objects with special mechanics, each level has something new!
Not enough levels for you?
Play forever in Endless Mode, which has its own unique maps and carefully crafted, procedural wave generation, providing limitless content!
During your adventure, you can unlock dozens of different cards! Every card unlocked brings a whole new world of strategic opportunity!

Hero cards are your "towers". Using their unique abilities and attacks, they each fill their own distinct role in your defense!

Enchantment cards enhance a heroes abilities when used. Unlike other tower defense games, upgrades can be applied to any hero in a sandbox style upgrade system!

Spell cards are flashy, fun, and satisfying effects! They vary from small utility effects, helpful boosts, and some can even wipe out entire waves!
Customize and vary your playstyle with one of many relics, which each give a distinct bonus, but not without a drawback...

Notice this review is based upon the FIRST EARLY ACCESS release of the game. Based upon this, I believe the future game will be a good game and worth buying. But is it worth buying right now? Well, that depends. Naturally if you are interested in Early Access games as in being able to give your input to future development, then I suppose it is right away without need to consider the rest. Main things to consider: 1. This is extremely hard. I was able to complete 7 out of 9 levels with 10+ hours of playing, and I dont think I can beat those 2, or maybe could beat the other one of them, but cant see any way how I could beat the other one and I have pretty much decided to give up trying already and simply wait for the future, more complete release. Therefore, if you are not experienced Tower Defence player, this FIRST EARLY ACCESS version is not for you. 2. Card system is practically only quite lightly implemented in sense that it could basically just be some item system and it would almost work. However, using the cards system does make it more understandable, like it is easy to understand that when card is played, it goes back to drawpile, as some cards are not exhausted on us…7 found this helpful
A very good and simple tower defense game, with charming graphics and music. Absolutely worth the price5 found this helpful

Fun game, gets really challenging towards the end but that just makes it more fun :D 10/10.1 found this helpful
Overall, the game is a lot of fun. I had a disappearing head bug when a psychic was placed near bush. Was unable to select a card once, tried clicking all of them, had enough gold but won't give it so ended up clicking skip. The black transition screen doesn't scale to ultra-wide resolutions. The game has a lot of potential, and I overall really enjoyed the 2 levels I played up to this point.
