About Get Those Bugs

Get Those Bugs is a wave based tower defense with roguelite elements where you command a small party of magic soldiers to defeat hordes of attacking bugs. Upgrade and play cards on your units to strategically react to an ever evolving threat. Unlock additional power through meta progression to enable stronger builds to take on more difficult challenges.

The Artefacts

Send your units into battle across a variety of maps each with their own artefacts to defend. These mysterious artefacts may exhibit properties or abilities that change up the strategy needed to clear the stage.

The Bugs

These angry little guys absolutely despise the artefacts and will stop at nothing to take them down. Each different bug exhibits properties that require tactics and planning ahead to work around and their rapid evolution makes them even more dangerous. With hundreds of bugs descending on the artefacts at a time, your party of four has a lot to deal with. Get those bugs!

Unit Customization

Your soldiers are at the heart of your strategy and are exceptionally versatile. Choose their method of attack, the element they specialize in, and from a list of additional bonuses called Traits to further increase their capabilities. Unlock additional customization options through the rewards system.

Card Based Gameplay

Automatically receive cards from the deck during battle and choose how to best utilize them. Upgrade them, burn them for mana, or play them on units to increase their stats or activate additional powers.

Some cards may be tagged with special modifiers that change their effects. Take advantage of these rare cards!

Progression

Earn Tickets at the end of your runs based on your kills and accolades and spend those Tickets to unlock rewards. Unlock new cards, new mechanics, new traits, cosmetics and more!

A lot of unit power is locked behind the rewards system so make sure you spend your Tickets!

Play here: https://youtu.be/bHq-YAr-WXQ Holy crap I enjoy this game, but it is INSANELY difficult it definitely took me a while to grasp a lot of the mechanics, but even after grasping them I'm either missing something or the game is just one of the hardest games I've ever played all I can figure at this point is that I just need to grind rewards I finally got a team that functions extremely well and everyone contributes but the game dgaf after wave 20 to be honest lol

Very hard game, I found it hard to clear even on normal mode. But also a lot of fun. You'll have to learn about how the different units and their stats work, how the different cards work, how the different mechanics can be combined, etc. to maximize DPS to make it through all 30 waves. For me, it was a lot of trial and error but it feels really good when you finally figure out a build that works and just see waves of bugs melt away.

I enjoy this game quite a bit. I've backed GTB since it was on itch.io! - For being a Tower Defense like game there is a vast amount of control given to you when it comes to customizing your gameplay. In contrast the Card/Deck system adds a nice amount of "random" variety to your runs so it feels fresh for a while longer than it might in a regular set-package TD game. - If you enjoy Tower Defense games that give you a good amount of control but also offers variety you should definitely check this game out!~ P.S. - The Dev is a goober :}

I played an earlier version of this game and spent hours with it. when I saw it on steam it was an instant buy. The game seems to developed a lot since I last played, I'm excited to see everything new!
