I'd been following the progress of this game but some reason even after liking the demon I held off getting it when it was first released. I think I've been burnt too many times on day 1 purchases so I've ended up getting during a sale. I'm only part way into Sicily at the moment of writing but I'm enjoying it immensely. The gameplay is good, with some positive twists on the turn based approach but it is the writing and story element that really excels. You can tell a lot of research and a lot of love went into this game. As well as playing strategy games all my life I'm into military history and fairly well read but I'm learning quite a lot interesting things about US infantry and the history of this regiment. I'm glad I decided to get the DLC in the same sale but I think there's a lot of the base game to go before I get my hand on a British platoon. The gameplay is solid and the graphics maybe basic when comparing to others but they're perfect for doing the job here. So I'd don't take the screenshots at face value and dip into the demo. Finally I've seen quite a lot written about the opening tutorial but personally didn't see the problem with the in-depth playthrough. …2 found this helpful

I love playing: and Burden of Command 2025 because it gives immersive ww2 gameplay! Such astonishing game stood on a level with Blitzkrieg 2003 and Soldiers of arena 2004 for me. This game is striking and mind-blowing. That's all. I have to complete next mission. So, see you comrade on the battlefield.2 found this helpful
Really wanted to like it, it's just boring. Sorry makers, I like what you guys were trying to do but it has to be a negative.2 found this helpful
Ever go to a museum and you find an an interactive game in the are to play? This is what this game feels like. The tutorial is painful to play through as the creator of the game does a voice over, while showing you a screen capture video of how to play. You then follow that up by copying his moves. He makes cheesy dad jokes while trying to insult your intelligence on how "difficult" the learning curve is. If you can make it through the Virginia training, the battles are actually enjoyable to play. I got to around chapter 10 in Morocco and the game crashed mid-battle. Pros: 1) Historically driven, giving excerpts from historical books and short videos from Veterans (Easy Company for example). 2) The choices feel well thought through and decision do comeback throughout the dialogue to effect future interactions. 3) The "Aid" or Experience menu between rounds is a good mechanic. 4) Gaining experience seems relevant. Cons: 1) Tutorial... it's brutal to play through. I'd rather have tried to figure it out myself, without the voice over videos. 2) The game slows down the further you get, due to the multiple enemy movements, which is probably why the game crashed on …
A nice game. The tactical aspect is very easy for anyone used to wargames, but I liked how the game humanizes your units. If anything, I wish there would be more personalization at grunt level
