"Burning Requiem: Fates" is a poorly made 2D retro pixel (ugh) fighter/versus arcade game. There's no players, and no formal online play (these guys really set out to fail from the start), but you can play against bots, which have terrible AI. The game itself lacks polish, the controls are janky, and the combo and fighting mechanisms are poorly laid out without sufficient counters to some moves (something the old fighterbros would see as a huge problem) as you can get effectively stunlocked easily. The whole thing is a train wreck, and, unsurprisingly, was a massive failure here on Steam Direct. This features really godawful pixelcrap "art" instead of real graphics. It's hard to say if this was because the developer didn't have the skill to do the job of creating 3D visuals, or couldn't afford to hire someone who does, but it also doesn't matter. What matters is that this looks much worse than most other games because of that decision, and that's a major deterrent to gamers. Games like Terraria and Stardew Valley succeeded despite the bad graphics, not because of them. Now on to pricing and value for gamers. This is "free" enough (not every "free" game in the "free"…2 found this helpful
I think this could be a good game but it is highly confusing for a new players as many of the mechanics aren't explained properly and the bots that are usually in fighting games assault you before you can even realise what is going on1 found this helpful
It's like Chibi Mugen Smash DBZ/GGs maybe 4 player mode for real tag battles and a royal rumble mode where 4 players come in, two lanes of battle with a button to swap lanes(and also strategically avoid supers) 2v2 2 lane mode... Dunno I do like what you did so far, control options need to be clearer but for free to play it's very well programmed and in depth when it comes to concept of battles and character archetypes... though... this one comes without needing a 3rd party EULA...1 found this helpful
