About Chior Chapter 1: Hall Of Pillars

When you lose your most valuable senses, a combination of the rest has to do. Feel, scream, smell, and manage. The game uses a variety of senses to aid the player throughout their journey. Feel: You feel around your surroundings in order to gather information from your current location. Smell: smell the surrounding environment in order to get a good indication of what kind of challenges may lay ahead. Scream: Scream out loud in order to deter your foes as well as draw attention from other NPCs. Step: Forwards, Backwards, Left, Right.

Watch out for those who can see you, for there are plenty. There are several enemies who will take you into even deeper darkness. These enemies have unique ways of posing threats, whether by harming you directly, damaging one of your senses, or moving around. Make sure to learn how to deal with them in order to make sure you don't give them satisfaction.

Solve puzzles and do anything and everything in your power in order to escape from this hellscape. Feel and hear to get clues and solve intriguing and challenging puzzles. Use all that is within your inventory to harm anything that tries to get in your way, and make sure you don't bump your head into walls when walking.

Interact with dwellers in an unseen place. They have many stories and secrets to tell. There are many characters throughout the journey who can help you learn more about your surroundings and help you with your troubles. In an unknown place, having the ability to communicate properly with the locals is mandatory.

I play on playing the full game when it's done and only briefly trudged through this first chapter. I really dig it, and despite not having played too many text-based ventures, I felt that what it did (and did not) give you in terms of visuals and sound add to the tension immensely

Nice little RPG Maker game, minus the blindness lol That pedestal room genuinely had me pull out a pen and paper

It was a really unique experience with the sound design and sense system more than making up for the lack of visuals when it comes to setting the atmosphere. The game has a very unique concept and does a great job in keeping you guessing as to what comes next. Looking forward to chapter 2!

Chior Chapter 1: Hall Of Pillars takes an unconventional approach to adventure and horror by removing something players normally take for granted: sight. Developed by Darius and published by Steel Rain Studios, this free-to-play opening chapter builds its experience around navigating an unfamiliar place while unable to properly see the world around you. Instead of relying on traditional visual exploration, the game encourages players to interpret their surroundings through sound, touch, smell, movement, and interactions with mysterious inhabitants. It is a relatively small production, but its unusual central mechanic immediately gives it a recognizable identity. The story begins after the protagonist suffers a serious fall and awakens in a vulnerable condition. Sight is unavailable, leaving the player to determine where they are and what may be lurking nearby. This restriction transforms ordinary exploration into something much more tense. Walking through a room is no longer simply a matter of looking for doors, objects, or enemies. Every movement carries uncertainty, and gathering enough information about the immediate surroundings becomes an important part of survival. Its sens…
