Normally I dislike tower defense games (Plants vs. Zombies was my only exception to a "pure" TD game). But this game is much more focused on the fun aspects of platforming/lite RPG. Yes, you can build stuff like in a TD game, but it's not overly complicated in terms of what the items are or where is the optimal location to place them. You don't feel like you have to micro-manage the actual placement and upgrading and management of the "towers". In fact, you don't have to worry about tedious stuff like repairing them. You can upgrade the "towers" to be more powerful, and it's done in a way that you can quickly and easily do it (or destroy them for a refund) while fighting off a legion of hilariously designed enemies that come after you via several waves. You could micro-manage it if that's your kink. Or, if you're like me, you can plop down what looks cool to you and then run off to go platform bash the enemies, periodically coming back to drop down new towers and upgrade existing ones. But what really sells me on the game are the platforming and lite RPG aspects of it. You can pick from several characters to play as, with obvious trade offs and benefits. You can upgrade their gear…

Was on the fence about buying the game but the price dropped so I picked it up, tolerable solo but I am going to shelf it until I plan on playing some local co-op. Indie co-op games like these are vital.

Pretty cool genre fusion of a tower defense, castle-crashers-y beat 'em up, plus a lot of solid 90s and 00s jokes. Highly recommended!

Very fun couch co-op game. There are a few minor bugs but definitely a good game to play with friends!

Excellently executed, incredibly re-playable, easily accessible fun game! Hands down the best I've played in the genre. I've been playing with my friends a lot, but sometimes just chill on my own too. Very nicely done! Upgrades to your characters feel significant, without you quickly becoming overpowered. Enemies are challenging, but manageable - especially if you plan ahead. The towers are all quite unique, and figuring out how to best combine them makes for interesting strategies. The enemies have quite varied capabilities, adding new challenges every time a new one is introduced. Overall, it's incredibly well balanced, holds your interest, but isn't too serious. Definitely will be playing a lot more of it!

Really fun with a friend! I love the art style, and the fun, silly vibes! This game is easy to pick up, but there's a surprising amount of depth and nuance between all of the character classes. Some are very easy to play, while others can be complex, but very rewarding! I would definitely recommend playing co-op, so make sure you and your best buddy both get a copy! If you're a parent, or have younger siblings, this would be a really fun game to play with young players, especially if they pick one of the more straightforward classes, like the nurse.
