About Cinders Of Hades
Cinders of Hades is a relaxing, wave shooter arcade-style game. It’s a Virtual Reality game that all ages will enjoy. It has some classic, arcade influences translated to VR that veteran arcade players will appreciate.
The nice thing about Cinders of Hades is that it’s easy to pick up and learn. It's a great game for people who are new to VR. You are the Wizard protecting the castle from a merciless waves of lava boulders, bugs, Dragons and other creatures intent on destroying your castle. Once all the towers of the castle are destroyed it's Game Over! As an arcade-style game, playtime is about 5 minutes until your castle is obliterated, and then you can play it again.
If you want to blow off some "steam" after a long day and enjoy some “relaxing chaos” with cool physics, Cinders of Hades is the game for you! Because of the game's physics, no two games are identical, and this unpredictability makes game play even more fun!
Holon Studios has been working on developing a series of VR and AR video games that can be enjoyed by all ages.
Cinders of Hades is our first launch, and it will be available in January 2021.
Experienced on the Oculus Quest 2
You can view my review & gameplay here: https://youtu.be/OgrGfVusNyU This is a 180 stand still wave shooter castle defense type game. You're supposed to shoot any enemies or objects which might cause damage to your castle. There is only one map. There's 2 weapons, both wands that stand in for your motion controllers which shoot exactly the same, except for the visuals. There's no strategy, no story, or reason to play this game .... other than if you want to climb to the top of the leaderboard. I managed to get to number 2 on the leaderboard after only 10 minutes. I imagine that's because everyone else tapped out much earlier than I did. This game is just too repetitive. It's running on the Unity Engine. On my RTX 3080, I was getting a steady 90 fps. I did not experience any serious issues or bugs, other than I had to start Steam VR first, before starting this game, before I could interact with the menu. So beware of that issue. I just can't recommend this game. It's too simple. There isn't anything to it at all. If it were free, I still wouldn't recommend it. There's just no reason to play it. The graphics & sounds are also ugly as …4 found this helpful
Cinders of Hades is a super addictive game where the vibrant colors and beautiful scenery almost makes protecting your castle from fireballs and endless hoards of monsters relaxing. I loved how quickly I was able to pick up on the controls in the game and see myself improve each round. While I definitely preferred the immersive experience of this game in VR (better for appreciating the scenery in its entirety), I first tried Cinders in standard mode and also enjoy playing that way when the VR feels like a hassle to set up. Definitely recommend for anyone looking for that classic arcade game feel in a new game!1 found this helpful
