Coast Defender

Good for a brief dumb time waster. Not anything you should spend any actual money on. Not much enemy variety, the upgrades aren't that interesting, and enemies phase in and out of existence. At least your homing missiles will alter course midair to change to where the enemy reappears instead of going to waste. I have no idea why anyone would want to unlock additional ships, they don't change how the game plays at all. They just change the graphics of the ship that you see if your turret is depressed enough.

It's ok...but maaayyyybe some more weapons?

It's simple, it's free, it's low res, it's blatantly a port of a mobile game, complete with egregious premium currency microtransaction options (although PC is earnable incredibly slowly for free) and "Watch ads for a boost" mechanics, but like...yeah, I mean, it's alright. Would be nice to be able to bulk-open lootboxes quicker, rather than one at a time with the animation each time.

This,,,is pretty terrible. Even for a free game it's extremely dull and I can't even give it full credit for a free game because it has microtransactions. The gameplay is beyond simply repetitive to the point of outright monotony and the visuals would have been mediocre twenty years ago. There is no story.

This certainly IS NOT a pay to win game. It takes no time at all to do some levels and open an $800 loot box (in-game cash, not real)... before too many levels, you can have every ship unlocked. Don't bother doing upgrades in the hanger, even on the 5* ships upgrades are not noticeable whatsoever. There is nothing to actually spend money on. The only use for gold is to buy all 3 in-chapter upgrades which isn't needed. As long as you aren't picking the laser or health during a level, any other choice is descent. Missile is a must for those levels with bugged planes. That brings me to the absolutely awful coding this game has. Planes can't fly that way. Ground and obstacles mean nothing. Planes disappear and restart. Upgrades in the hanger are garbage. Certain ships you can't even select. And if you do watch any ads, it's the same 3-4 ads of children games that range from 20-35 seconds a piece. Hopefully this was written by someone new to coding as a test bed and not someone whose been doing games for 20 years.
