About Collapse Relapse
You have 60 seconds to explore a collapsing cave before time resets, and then you'll lose everything but your map and one item. In order to escape, you'll have to plan your route and uncover secrets. Use items to find other items and get to new places in this metroidvania with clay graphics!
- Extra modes and challenges -- Unlockables flip the game on its head! Hidden codes uncover unique gameplay challenges!
- Randomizer -- The customizable randomizer mode lets you play with the item layout entirely rearranged. The game's logic will ensure each game is possible to complete in respect to both item order and time. The logic can be set to normal, difficult, or off and you can even entirely turn the game's clock off as well.
- Sequence breaking -- Don't like playing in the dev-intended order? You can abuse the game's design to get items early, or not at all! Go for low%!
- Speedrun timekeeping -- Turn on a speedrun timer to place in the corner; best times are kept for any%, 100%, and low% for each different mode. Each random seed you generate also has its own best times saved and they are easily selectable to be played again.

Collapse Relapse is a 2D retro "claymation" art Metroid/Castlevania style platformer where you're stuck in some castle/dungeon/cave whatever and must find your way to the exit, and in true Metroidvania style this involves unlocking various abilities and exploring the various platformer areas until you find the solution. Platforming is a bit floaty but generally works, it's not great or terrible, just mediocre gameplay and handling. Given there's literally thousands of 2D retro platformers infesting Steam, it's vital that these aspects of the game must be excellent if a game is to compete for players time. Obviously the best part about the game is the clay modelling... again, not the best ever seen but it's a million times better than lazy, tired pixel "art" that amateur developers often use as a crutch because they can't do any better. It's a shame that technical presentation issues prevent the clay art here from being enjoyable. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. cozy game from a cozy guy! i like everything about this, not much to complain about. maybe that i wish it'd be longer, but that's not really a real complaint. the alternative modes and achievements are all nice to give the game some length. i'd say buy it if you wanna play something pretty unique. going around exploring the map was definitely the best part of the game. being reset and having to figure out the "best path" was also really fun. all in all super cool. bought it because i binged all of this guy's videos and they're also cool. so check those out too.3 found this helpful
Really fun to route your way through the caverns while trying to optimize movement. Going for low% has been an interesting challenge so far.2 found this helpful
nice experience. there is a combination of platforming and stategising so you get everything you need on the map in time. getting a high % completion on this is a fun task1 found this helpful
