About Companion
Will you please let me stay with you? I will do whatever you want.
Two arms length away, she stood shivering in the summer rain.
Experience a future where the starlit night signals the end. Companion is a Chinese developed visual novel from Narrator with gorgeous artwork and a poetic romance.
The Companion Star Project is a name from the distant past.
With a population growth that showed no sign of slowing down,
a small planet was painfully relocated to orbit around the Earth
for pioneers to terraform and emigrate.
Those who stayed behind eventually lost control over the companion star
after bloody wars and devastating plagues.
Many years passed,
the companion star, now no longer in orbit, will bring inevitable destruction to Earth.
Those who know about the pending doom built shelters,
but they did not want the surface world to descend into chaos, so they took the secret with them underground.
And now,
a man who knows about the end and decides to live lavishly
and a girl who will turn his life upside down
their story begins when she steps under his umbrella

Companion is a decent visual novel about romance(?) I enjoyed its short story and the flow of it. Although my view of the characters were not the best at times but I understood them. I recommend it even for casual visual novel lovers.5 found this helpful
Join and follow our Steam curator group: Visual Novel, JRPG, Anime VN is Life Companion is a drama romance visual novel centered around an upcoming man-made apocalypse and the probable decimation of the human race. In the period before, some select few astronomers and scientists knew about the coming downfall, and as such they were bound by a severe rule, do not speak of it publicly if you want to have your place in the top secret security bunker. All didn't go as planned though as we got stopped by a sweet girl on the street and asked for money in exchange for pleasure. This was not the first time, but things ended up differently, as we ended up with the girl staying at our apartment and we evolved to become quite concerned about this girl and her situation. The story is accompanied by agreable music titles, and its art style is good. The novel is close to being fully voiced in Chinese except for our character. The CGs can be reviewed once we finish the story, as watching the CGs during the story all while reading is not completely possible as the text goes over 2 third of the screen. Overall the story is a good dr…5 found this helpful
This VN has a very interesting premise and I initially expected that I'll enjoy it a lot due to the whole sci-fi tragedy, but overall the story didn't impress me that much unfortunately. As just mentioned, the setting intrigued me a lot and I expected to find out more about the circumstances throughout the story, however majority of information gets revealed in the very beginning and doesn't get extended later on. I still quite enjoyed the depressingly empty and heavy atmosphere and liked to see how the different characters react to the "event". Moreover the game has excellent music and lovely art, the aesthetic is great in general! My main issue with this story is that the protagonist and Airi really weirded me out. I found them both very annoying most of the time and their interactions simply confused me, despite it being intentional sort of. I honestly enjoyed the story the most whenever the focus was at the coworkers and I likely would've actually loved this VN if those two were the protagonists. I additionally disliked the ending, it seems too unlogical, plus overly abrupt. I believe it would've been better if there were multiple endings, since I was looking forward to see w…4 found this helpful
I just really regret not checking the reviews. Like, I liked the summary and it had good ratings so I bought it when it was really cheap. So I did not realize that the love interest was a ♥♥♥♥♥/prostitute/etc. That is pretty much it, yeah. I have no interest in a story where some love interest is supposed to make the mc fall so much in love in a week that he thinks about giving up surviving, and then that chick is just straight up a ♥♥♥♥♥. Feel free to bash me for that, but that is my opinion on the topic. I don't like stories where the love interest (be they male or female) are prostitutes.
A kinetic novel, existential but a bit too melodramatic. For me the background story was strained and not believable at all. On the other hand the plot was OK. Both the music and flow of narration complemented each other nicely. Still the title is well done and I am looking forward for checking up more titles from this developer.
Companion is a short story about the end of the world. I liked that the premise is somewhat plausible, given that we have already done some things that were laid out in the Companion Star Project, along with other details like loss of technology via war and plague essentially rendering us helpless when the Companion Star begins to come crashing back down on us. The journey of the main character was interesting to watch unfold, as he starts as a rather indifferent and unfeeling person seeing as he's one of the few who knows of the coming end of humanity and is forbidden to speak of it; until he meets Airi and slowly changes, day by day, along with the help of his old friends and their family. It also touched on a lot more adult themes than I was expecting, given the VN's description, which was a welcome surprise given it handled it very nicely. The ending left enough vagueness to give you a lot to think about, but I do wish there was a bit more to it as the final chapter was quite short. All in all, I quite enjoyed it. Art was very pretty, and the Mandarin voice acting was great as well.
