Cursed Treasure 2

Cursed Treasure 2 is a simple tower-defense strategy game where you play the bad guys. The closest comparison would be the Kingdom Rush series, although there are significant differences. From the intro, you see the character graphics are poor with those minimally drawn "googly-eye" enemies, but the pretty and colorful environments made up for it. The gameplay was very solid also. I liked levelling up and the upgrade chart between stages. Even when you lost, you gained experience so an unsuccessful run was not completely useless. However, I sometimes had infrequent crashes when failing a map (or elsewhere). Not enough to be a big issue, though. I liked the extraneous buildings on the maps, different from offensive towers, that could be upgraded and exploited, such as mines and taverns. This is something rarely seen in the genre. I liked very much being able to decide when the next wave would come because I could then better prepare. Later on, there were too many waves of enemies and this got tiresome. a more pure tower defense experience. I spend a lot of time playing tower defense. It's my favorite casual / strat type of game. Cursed treasure give you the blocks of actual tower defense and none of the BS, of unrelated stuff. Just the genre convention you came for, a mix of easy enough to pass but having to be strategic to master. I give this game a 8/10, would buy again. especially for the discounted price I bought it at (less than 1 usd). Armored Games has had my heart since the first gem craft game, I can't wait for the legacy version to come out. Thank you AG for always wanting to make true tower defense games that were pleasing to look at and fun to play. Ya'll are forever Goated in my heart.

Before you buy this, do yourself a favor and go to Armor Games (it's a site with 100s of HTML games - Free!) and look for [b]Cursed Treasure 1[/b] and [b]Cursed Treasure 1.5[/b]. If you're a fan of Tower Defense, you'll be playing for hours upon hours, with that awesome rush that these kind of games provide. In my opinion, this series is in the top 6 of all TD franchises. (while you're there, also checkout the [b]GemCraft[/b] series - another in the top 6 of all time - which also has a game here on Steam) So, yeah - all the great features you want: very little grinding to move up the skill tree, plenty of choices on how to approach each level, and you get XP regardless if you can't finish a given level. Lot's of endorphins kicking in. It's funny, when you're in the midst of battling your butt off, the level often finishes before you thought it would - ha! Yet, there are 3 MAJOR issues with the Steam version (which applies to many other TD games): 1. At higher levels, the designer(s) change the premise from a strategic placement and advancement of towers, to the same, BUT with [b]fast-twitch-response arcade crap[/b] added.
