GemCraft - Frostborn Wrath

Love this game. I'm actually writing this review because I'm not sure how else to ask the developers a question about a part of the story that doesn't make sense to me. In both Chasing Shadows and Frostborn Wrath, there's mention that there are decades between each release of the Forgotten. This is interesting, because you'd expect a near end of the world scenario, especially a repeated one, to be remembered for THOUSANDS of years, but each time it's forgotten in less than a single lifetime. The protagonist of Gemcraft 0 uncovers hidden lore about the Gem of Eternity, but even though such information should be plastered with warnings about the Forgotten, he had no idea that she even existed until the moment she possessed him. It seems to me that the Forgotten has the ability to manipulate information about herself, causing it to become forgotten, whether it's in the mind of people or in the writing of a book, leaving only the information she finds convenient (such as the powers of the Gem of Eternity). If she has such an ability, why is there never a mention or allusion to it anywhere in the story? If she doesn't, how does information about her disappear in the way i…

Hours of entertainment, simple and complex at the same time.

Pure heroin.

Good game. Kinda brutal with a grind. But if you are into hardcore TD games its good. I will say it does force micro heavy mechanics on you which kinda takes away from the chill experiance TD's typically are. Some mechanics and maps you will have to frantically juggle your gems around to have a chance to clear. You will be forced into memorizing hotkeys and getting sweaty at some point which may bother some people. Also expect to have to use the internet to learn. Some game mechanics are poorly explained or not explained at all. I strongly recommend looking up lists of the Wizards caches to know what to target or you may get to points on the map where you want to play but have no idea what to even do to progress which can be frustrating if you enjoy trying to figure things out yourself. I held out for my first 60 hours or so and I regret not looking things up when I did. There are also mechanics that punish you for progressing. You will unlock bosses that can come in and screw up your endless grind for XP which is not great. All in all if you really love TD's and want to be challenged in ways that can be frustrating this is one of the best ones out there. I would highly recomm…
