Deadly Premonition 2: A Blessing in Disguise

It runs even on Linux but the design on the town is so mind numbing and tedious. It lost the charm from the first game. I am forcing myself to play which is not a good sign. Buyer beware. Just watch the LP on Youtube. The first game was a masterpiece compared to this.

I'd hate to give this game a "Not Recommended" because SWERY actually reads these reviews, but considering he had pretty much nothing to do with the game besides the story (only good part of it) I feel like it's justified. They took a beloved game from my teenage years (had the original release on Xbox) and turned it into an unfun, grindy JRPG. And not the good kind ala SMT or Persona 3. The original was a fantastic experience, from start to finish. Nothing felt like a chore to do, it was actually fun to explore the atmosphere and the living small town that you inhabited while working on your assigned case. SWERY really mastered the dream-like yet opaque, dark atmosphere that Twin Peaks and other such Lynch titles brought to the table. The characters were all memorable and you actually wanted to partake in the side stuff the game offered because it brought even more life and mystery to the experience. With this game, however, you want me to get run over 100 times by cars? Kill wildlife? (This is the sequel to the game that actually rewarded you for releasing fish that you caught while fishing) Run pedestrians over with my... skateboard? For what? Stamps that are impossible to act…

Friendship ended with TWIN PEAKS. Now TRUE DETECTIVE is my best friend.

Uggg. I have to struggle on both to get them working. If you are willing to get it working and you love going down the rabbit hole, this is a great series. But I will be honest. If you don't want to outright pirate. I suggest you just buy it here then use a high seas copy or just get it on Ebay. Disc still work and Cheaper then on Steam while on sale..... Ya, despite the hype, Steam has made videogames more expensive for the price hunters by removing used copies. Way to go gamer collective. Now I am seeing games stay at day 1 prices forever, lowing price for a only for a sale (and mathematically made to milk the market) and broken ports (at least 1 case of a port just being a version the owners stole from pirates, lol) like this are the norm. Clap for your service. Its going to get worst in the years coming. Ya, the fact I am using steam reviews to be an old man yelling at the group-think shows I need to stop playing games. The hobby has moved on past me.
