At point of review, im.only six hours in. I can alredy tell that this will become one of my most played games. It feels very similar to fortress crusader from way back when with the building. Mixed in with the enemy count of they are billions. Playing trough the campaign, the cut scenes are hilarious, we play as a lord of a castle that we get to name. And your advisor who is my favourite character ("pupulta", is what he always says when adresing the lord, it has become a new vocal stim for me). The recourse system is simple, yet it holds a fair bit of complexity. There is wood, stone, iron and gold coins. Housing and population can technically be counted in that too. But it has that positive feed back loop akin to factorio. In one mission you have to build boats, my defences weren't up to par and the pesantry broke through and destroyed one of the boats as it finished. This happened 3 more times. I finished that boat and loaded what I needed to complete the mission as another wave was at my wals and overwhelming my defences yet again. I completed the mission and on the victory screen you could see my castle get stormed by the pesantry. All of that was on the medium difficulty…1 found this helpful
Fun and exactly what needed to scratch that base defense itch. Plus the devs seem cool, plenty of updates.1 found this helpful
They come in waves, but we drive them back.1 found this helpful
Very engaging, with different factions and a multi-furcating campaign
First impressions are very, very good. It has a strong Stronghold vibe and you feel like you are defending Helm's Deep or Minas Tirith. I'm not a fan of micromanaging your troops around the map to destroy the tents and collect stuff. The cutscenes between missions are bad and way too long.
Amazing game It is kinda hard though but once you get used to it it becomes peak and It takes an hour to an hour and a half to beat each campaign level
