My personal GOTY for 2025. This is as good as 2d action games come. Saying it's an Alien Soldier like is not productive since very few have played it. Imagine a 2d character action game focused on positioning and strategic usage of multiple weapons you can switch between through a boss gauntlet with levels that mostly exist to get hp back. This game is built to give both casual and experienced players a challenge through its varied difficulty levels. The easiest difficulty gives you unlimited continues to finish the game, but Disaster Arms obviously wants you to play on the higher difficulty levels, which encourage players to fully master the varied mechanics. It truly feels like a 16 bit genesis platformer in ways that many indie games do not, yet it still feels modernized. PD_CGT achieves a balancing act that results in an amazing game. Shoutouts to the small snippets of story that are in the game, which tell an interesting story with nice pathos, similar to Somnabuster. It's a very nice bonus I do not usually expect to get from games such as this.

Very good boss rush action game.

Once again PD_CGT makes a gorgeous game with great storytelling, very fun even going through just one casual playthrough since im the type of person that doesnt really have the patience or attention span to keep replaying an arcade game. Skill issue on my part. but this to say it was very much worth it even on the one playthrough. keep up the amazing work.

The artstyle is probably the most attention-grabbing feature of this game, and yeah, the game 100% delivers in that regard. The world, character designs and cutscenes look like they came straight from an artist's sketchbook. But even if you ignore the visuals, Disaster Arms is a very memorable experience thanks to its story, fun gameplay and many creatively designed bosses. This and the other game in the "Treasure-like" bundle, Candy Rangers, are true hidden gems!
