Disc Creatures is a tribute to classic monster catching RPGs from the golden days of portable gaming. Choose your three starter creatures and set off as a licensed Disc Ranger (a DiscR!) to tame the greatest of creatures and bring peace to the land!
Disc Creatures is set in a world where humans live alongside a wildly varied cast of creatures, all with different personalities, abilities, and moral codes. Travel across a quaint, quirky landscape, taming creatures and helping those in need! Mysteries fill the land of Disc Creatures, and some are darker and more formidable than one might expect...
When I was a kid, I was really into games that had a lot of unique monsters. Monster-themed games came out one after another, and among these titles, a variety of interesting monsters were born. I was influenced by this and used to show off the monsters I thought up and drew on the edge of my notebook to my friends. Disc Creatures is a game I’ve made without forgetting the monsters that were born on the edge of that notebook. While searching for memories of games at that time, I made this game with a feeling of nostalgia myself. If you consider this is nostalgic as well, I ask you to play the game remembering a little about the old days.

SATTO made the whole game solo, which is just astounding to me. Considering the amount of work that goes into making an RPG like this even if you have a whole team, it feels really great to see SATTO get this out to western fans. Disc Creatures is an old school creature collector rpg, like Game Boy Color old style which I super enjoyed. Very fun, 6 episode run for the main story and an actual post-game afterwards. Love the art design, I F***ing love 8bit pixel art, the creature all look good and very charming. The story is abit disjointed though, and kind of dark. I do like there is a way to make griding easier in this game. It isn't that difficult unless you want to just vibe with a one element team. If you miss Game Boy Era of pokemon, I believe you'll like this. ALSO press ALT + ENTER to enter fullscreen.2 found this helpful
Fun and quite long Pokemon-like (I have not beaten it yet). Combat is fun and zippy, and there is enough difference in gameplay to keep it from feeling like clone. It nails the Gameboy Color aesthetic well and the world is quite fun. My biggest complaints would be that grinding up multiple teams is pretty time consuming, making it too easy to stick to one team. Additionally, I would love more creature lore. The "Pokedex" analog gives strategic analysis of Creatures,which is welcome, but no lore/in-universe description.1 found this helpful
Allow me to preface this: I DON'T hate Disc Creatures, I love it for what it is and what it offered but I can't necessarily say that I like some of the aspects the game itself has. The 3v3 team aspect of the battling was done really well but unfortunately, things drag to a crawl once you realize that all the creatures get defaulted to LVL 1 upon obtaining them. In-universe, I understand why it's like that but it's just not my jam, especially when the lvl-boosting options themselves aren't that feasible in terms of time-investment. I just finished the campaign mode for defeating Phangon and while I cherish the dedication and time put into creating Disc Creatures, I personally just can't find that enough to warrant actively recommending it to anyone. Again, it was an OK experience for me but it was ultimately the tiring level grinding that ultimately killed it a bit for me. Still enjoyable to an extent, tho.1 found this helpful
Hell yeah
Loved the Original Pokemon games on Gameboy and Gameboy Color. This definitely invokes a similar feeling as those did. But it has its own twists, quirks, and dark undertones. Really loved my time with this game but I unfortunately lost my save on my old pc once I had upgraded to a better build but I've read there's a way to transfer the save file somehow. Just be aware that (obiously) there are no cloud saves. That's my only gripe.. I love the story, gameplay, and creature designs. If you also enjoyed the original Pokemon games then I think this is definitely up your alley. Really looking forward to Disc Creatures World!
I enjoyed this game and it fills the creature catcher void that pokemon is failing to fill
