Good!
I played through the entirety of the game. I also played through the sequel, however, I will judge this game based solely on what this game itself presents, rather than compare it to Extinction. Nexomon was originally a mobile game from 2017 that got ported over to PC. It removed the microtransaction aspect (everything is free and found in certain locations for those things monetized), but the gameplay remains the same. Things I like about the game: The designs for the Nexomon are great. I enjoyed seeing them all and catching what I didn't have. The story to the prequel, while it is fairly generic at the start, begins to integrate more personality toward the middle-to-post game area. There's plenty of extra golden Nexotraps so you can catch a couple really rare Nexomon early without feeling guilty about using them for non-legendaries. Save for a couple areas, you can either take your time and level up carefully or just level as you go and is valid for most parts of the world. Every single microtransaction item is placed around the world in decently easy spots to find and really helped jump the quality of life by adding them in as freebies instead of being lost when ported over…
Developed by VEWO Interactive Inc. and published by PQube together with VEWO Interactive Inc., Nexomon is a charming creature-collecting RPG that embraces the nostalgic appeal of classic monster-catching adventures while introducing enough personality and modern design choices to stand confidently on its own. From the opening moments, the game establishes an inviting world filled with mystery, humor, and adventure, placing players in the role of an aspiring tamer destined to become involved in a conflict that reaches far beyond simply collecting creatures. While the overall premise follows familiar genre traditions, the narrative is elevated by witty dialogue, memorable characters, and an engaging storyline that steadily raises the stakes without losing its lighthearted charm. The heart of the experience is building and training a diverse roster of Nexomon. With hundreds of unique creatures available to discover, capture, evolve, and strengthen, there is a constant incentive to explore every corner of the world. Each Nexomon possesses its own elemental type, strengths, weaknesses, and learnable abilities, encouraging players to create balanced teams rather than relying on a handfu…
ngl better than pokemon fr :>
This and Coromon are the best pokemon clones out there! if u want a fast paced pokemon play Nexomon if u want a more slow paced pokemon play Coromon. Either way both are amazing games
For note I played this on my PC/keyboard controls, and even further in the past on mobile, and not a Steamdeck or any controller. I am VERY biased against this game. I played it before it got on Steam and 100% it on mobile AND Steam. I love this game. It's not perfect, and it has a couple of really irritating bugs, most just small periods of visual. The writing is funny, the characters are fun. The creature designs are fun. BUT, a warning for anyone who wants to 100% this game. COLLECT ALL CREATURES AS YOU GO ALONG. After to beat the post game, which you are pushed into as soon as you beat the main story, many monsters are no longer obtainable. I had to replay this game on Steam 3 times due to this mistake. Also, try to buy when on sale, I personally don't think it's got that amount of content in, but I also bought it twice and combined it didn't add up to its usual listed price.
