Doctor Watson - Treasure Island

In short, everything wrong with the game (details below): 1.Boring, uninspired, repetitive puzzles 2.No proper plot 3.The games is FULL of bugs both literal and figurative to the point of being unplayable 4.Most puzzles are just a waste of time 5.Cannot save at will, also if you start another puzzle before finishing the last -> all progress lost 6.SO overpriced Details: 1. The "puzzles" are mostly searching for specific objects in a room full of objects (example: toy animals all around the room -> find the bear, the cat and the penguin). I thought at first that this was a one-time puzzle, but apparently 80% of the "puzzles" in this game are exactly that. There are 5-6 "rearrange the squares to make a picture" puzzles and maybe 3-4 "find the differences in the images" puzzles, which were my favourite. Finally, there were 2 nearly impossible puzzles with no hints and no instructions, so it was a matter of wasting time trying to make every configuration possible to find the right one. Finally, the most frustrating puzzles were the "find 30 coconuts or cans or bottles" games where you had to run around the map for 20 minutes to find all the objects. This was by far the longest …

Just bought bundle pack and am regretting it. I have an issue in both games during opeing level. In Treasure Island it is the find the mistakes puzzle. It does not respond to my mouse commands in any way. I the other game the first paper puzzle has a piece stuck off to the side I can not pick up or move. all other puzzles are working so it is not a mouse isssue. Please fix as I was enjoying the concept but the product I recieved is a rip off. Sadly this is my first steam purchase made without a demo. I won't make that mistake again.

Doctor Watson - Treasure Island is an ancient game from 2012. It's a whopping 11 years old at the time of this review. The game lacks support for any modern gaming display resolutions (or widescreen monitors), hasn't been modernised or updated to run smoothly on modern gaming PCs. Despite this lack of modernisation, it carries a pretty high price tag for such an ancient game. This seems to have been put on Steam as a nostalgia gouge. To say this is a bad game would be an insane understatement. The general idea is that you play Doctor Watson (not Sherlock Holmes, just Watson) and you run around and dig up treasure after you dive off a cruise ship (for no apparent reason). The only treasure that's been dug up here is Arthur Conan Doyle, so the developers spit on his corpse. This truly is garbage. Like, the cruise liner you dive off is a contemporary 21st century ship. WTF? Then we're back to the 19th century for the rest of the game.
