6.7HRS 95%Achievement Duke of Defense is a TD game with some great humor, a story that's better than some of these 20+hour TD games. I would consider this a must buy for any TD fans, and an excellent TD game for beginners. There isn't much of a learning curve, while I normally would recommend an encyclopedia for all the enemies in this instance it's ok to not have one. The game makes it a bit obvious if a tower is good against a particular enemy, simply via “how much damage it can do” and via “can the tower hit the enemy”. You don't have to grind to level up, but be warned there are some elements of “dodging” you'll have to do. For me it only took 1-3 attempts to beat the bosses which by the way you must learn how to dodge the bosses attacks. The regular enemies you can learn to avoid them and attack them at the same time. This game uses a similar mechanic as “PixleJunk”, but I actually like it in this game. The mechanic of standing in/over your tower over a set period of time allows you to “upgrade” your tower. I absolutely hate this mechanic in “pixlejunk”. Overall again a MUST buy for any TD fans and newcomers. PROS: Tower Balance Enemies PRICE!!!!! AT 1$ it's a steal. Thank…2 found this helpful
Duke of Defense is a very fun game with nicely paired arcade action and tower defense mechanics. It has great pixel art and juicy visuals, funny dialogues and an absolute banger of a soundtrack. Both the single player and local co-op modes are a hoot, I can wholeheartedly recommend it to fans of either or both genres.1 found this helpful
This was a pretty fun game up to the silo stage. It's unbeatable as far as I can tell. It's quite the difficulty jump and is complete ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. I do not recommend this game because of that. Pretty pricey for what you get as well.
Got up to the Ice Wizard and the enemies just stop coming after the first wave. Game breaking bug. Booo
I consider myself a pretty hardcore gamer, and although this game was quite simple it is still quite the gem. Lots to keep you busy, interesting mechanics while snubbing all that boring ♥♥♥♥. Not much for a skill system, but that's what you get. I had fun.
Cute looking, but oddly broken. That said, in the end I had a lot of fun, so I am changing my review to give this one a thumbs up. The issue I was having is that I would pick a tower, and the next one above it would be the one built. Once this glitch was figured out though, for the most part I did okay. The game has some nice variety in the enemies, and a few types of towers. If you level them, you get to choose from one of two options, some towers give you damage and range, others damage and rate of fire, things like that. There are also a few boss fights, were were challenging but not impossible. There is no pathing, not a big deal for me, but some people care. The levels are surprising short as well, I think so far the longest I have had is six waves. It also has a small but interesting selection of strategic upgrades, and you have some tactical choices to make, as you control a little swordsman whose presence is needed to upgrade towers and collect coins, so decisions have to be made. It was fun though, that is the bottom line.
