✦ AI summary

Electronic Super Joy: Groove City is a tight, addictive platformer with responsive controls and an excellent electronic soundtrack that keeps players engaged through challenging levels and quick reload times. Players consistently praise the satisfying difficulty curve and creative level design, though many note the game is quite short at around an hour of content, making it difficult to justify at full price for those seeking a longer experience. The game's cheeky, sex-positive humor and meta-commentary are appreciated by fans of the original, though some may find the over-the-top tone excessi

Electronic Super Joy: Groove City delivers the same addictive formula that made the original great — tight responsive controls, an absolutely banging electronic soundtrack courtesy of EnV, and that satisfying loop of dying repeatedly until a section finally clicks. The new scoring system and collectibles add a fun layer of challenge, and the levels are well-designed even if they lack some of the memorable set-pieces from the first game. My only real gripe is the length: I burned through the entire thing in just over an hour and walked away wanting more, which honestly says something about how enjoyable it is but also makes it hard to justify the full asking price. If you can snag it on sale or already know you're a fan of the original, absolutely grab it — just don't go in expecting a full-sized sequel.

Sex positive platforming, an excellent meta-commentary on how videogames, much like sex, affect our dopamine receptors. The dialog comes stream of consciousness and clearly written by a crazy person. Also, you play against the ghost of someone on your friends list, that's some pretty decent tech. A toy of a game, but I'm not gonna hate on a good college try.

Finally played this game after 11 years or so in my library. It made me go rub one out. 10/10 would play again

7/10 I loved the original Electronic Super Joy, and Groove City is more of the same. Thumping bass, excellent beats, and frequent moans as you keep reloading and trying to get through that difficult spot and mutter to yourself about how you were so close, you were almost there... ESJ does a great job relative to other platformers of being quite challenging while also making sure that you can reload quickly and you're never losing too much progress. I think the thing that actually sets it apart is the way that it at times becomes sort of like a bullet hell game, where there's so much happening that you can feel your focus narrowing to a smaller and smaller portion of the screen, and then you jump to that next platform... right into the enemy that you should've seen standing there, but you were too focused to look ahead. If you enjoy challenging platformers, the ESJ games are a great choice, and Groove City is another release in a really solid series. Honestly, the only thing that I'm docking the game for is that it's so short - only around 2 hours long, even if you're out of practice like me.

cute little solid platformer, little short even for 5 bucks though, but I enjoyed it since I had it and spent the money so long ago that I don't remember spending it lol. Just silly platforming fun though the over the top sexual stuff might be a bit much for some. 6/10
