NEVER DRINK AND BUY GAMES!!!18 found this helpful
Brutal raw jank at its best. On the Steam Deck the jump button wouldn’t register sometimes which made it even more punishing. There’s only three levels, but they’re all carefully designed so one missed jump sets you back a lot. Killed enemies respawn when their spawn point hits the edge of the screen so you’re constantly fending off foes and getting knocked back down to a previous area. Naturally there’s no checkpoints, so if you fall into that vat of acid near the exit you have to start all over again. Boss fights were neat. On sale, it’s a great price to get totally reamed by some Robocock!4 found this helpful
ROBOCOCK is a retro-inspired action platform shooter developed and published by Slippy Floor that combines side-scrolling combat, science fiction parody, and old-school challenge design into a fast-paced arcade experience. Built around pixel visuals and gameplay principles that draw inspiration from classic console action titles, the game embraces a deliberately exaggerated identity while focusing heavily on combat mastery, exploration, and progression. Rather than pursuing realism or cinematic presentation, it commits completely to nostalgic action design supported by humor and demanding gameplay systems. The premise immediately establishes the game's unusual personality. The setting leans heavily into over-the-top science fiction influences while embracing parody rather than taking itself entirely seriously. That self-awareness helps ROBOCOCK stand apart from many retro-inspired action games that simply imitate older ideas without adding personality of their own. DEAD OR ALIVE, YOU'RE F***KING WITH ME!1 found this helpful
I purchased this game because the title made me laugh. Unfortunately that's where the good points end. Enemies can and will stun lock you to death. They constantly respawn and they shoot you from way off screen. The controls are very unresponsive too. He won't always jump when you press jump for example. Bloody Awful
Solidly one of the laziest and most terrible platforming experiences I have ever had. The game literally missorder sprites and scales incorrectly forcing UI elements to cover your chacacter if you do something as crazy as setting the game to 1080P instead of 720P. You better use the one and only functional resolution option or else. The game also like to throw away half of your inputs. Hot Garbage, avoid like the plague.
