You can build huge impressive stages with lots of architecture and a story.
Or you can stick to the basics and create a more challenging stage.
Maybe you use many checkpoints to make it easier for your players? Or do you want to see them suffer? Then just leave them out.

Once you have created a stage, you can easily share it through the workshop and check the leaderboard to see if someone beats you!Rise to number 1 on the leaderboard and defend your title!

encrypt. is one of literally thousands of retro 2D platformers infesting Steam and lowering the average quality of all video games everywhere... and I'm not kidding. Searching for "platformers" on the Steam store page yields over 17,000 results! Is this one of the best of those? Absolutely not. This is a particularly badly made and objectively failed "me too" platformer with no distinguishing features apart from just how incredibly mediocre it is even for an amateur platformer. But, there is a level editor. Which nobody used. I guess that's something? Not enough to make this actually popular, though. Platforming is an old, mostly dead genre, and this lacklustre experience, while it doesn't have an upfront cost, isn't saving the genre... it's no surprise this failed to capture any attention from gamers in the era of immersive 3D gaming. This features really godawful pixelcrap "art" instead of real graphics. It's hard to say if this was because the developer didn't have the skill to do the job of creating 3D visuals, or couldn't afford to hire someone who does, but it also doesn't matter.
