About Escape From Hard Drive
In EFHD, you program the game as you play. You can modify and run source code to move, create, and destroy objects in this exciting and unique new simulator.

To progress through the game, players collect updates in each level. To find the updates, players manipulate objects in a charming 2D puzzle space, seeking out and executing .src files. Each new .src file allows the player to alter their environment by moving, creating, and eliminating objects. It will take both creativity and analytical thinking to make it through each level and find the update.

Functions and loops are waiting for you to test your programming skills. Are you ready to accept the challenge?

Fewjix games is the Zack-like games for beginner programmers. If you don't know how to code, start here. Fewjix will show you the way of the programmer. Wow! This is a hidden gem. While it lack a little polish in the tutorial parts, it FAR exceeds in the teaching how to code. Great music makes the game even better. This is a beginner level game, the second or third game you would play if you know nothing about coding. EHFD teaches you how to code by reading the dev's code that manipulate game objects on a grid to reach the exit--basically an escape the room puzzle. You can learn concepts faster by reading other people's code and tweaking it. If you are a beginner and want to learn how to code, I recommend: 1. Algo Bot, Sokobot or any beginner coding game with symbols/icons 2. Move Code Lines 3. Escape From Hard Drive Save Zacktronic games until you played over five coding games. __ MacOS users -- Porting Kit (Windows emulator ) and Steambuild 64bit/D3d11 will run this on the mac.10 found this helpful

There are definitely "Baba Is You" vibes to this game, which is actually a pretty rare and cool thing. The ability to change meta things about the puzzle makes it a lot more interesting and deep. This is kind of a neutral recommendation, if you don't know programming it's going to be hard to get into it I think. If you do know programming you will feel at home and the game will mostly be figuring out the order things need to go. It was a bit too laborsome for me, but I know a lot of people like this type of puzzle so it's a shame it's still not being pushed by Steam and barely anyone has played it. Also, if you like the code line moving mechanic check out the developer's previous game "Move Code Lines".
