It's alright for what it is. The gameplay is pretty simple: avoid guards, sneak around, and find your way out. There isn't a whole lot of depth to it, but it works well enough if you're just looking for something casual to play for a little while. The levels can start feeling repetitive after some time, but considering it's free, I wasn't expecting anything groundbreaking. Overall, I'd call it a decent little time-passer. Not something I'd actively recommend to everyone, but if the concept sounds interesting and you've got some spare time, it might be worth checking out.

This game gave me cancer, gave me the plague, the kidnapped my family, but it did make me an escape master.

"Escape Master" is something that feels like a student project... it's a simple unambitious top down stealth action game where you avoid sight cones and sneak out of a prison. There's a simple "progression" system where you can upgrade your stats, but with such a shallow premise for a game, there's no motivation play for more than 10 minutes. In terms of visuals, this features fairly low quality low poly 3D graphics which will deter a lot of gamers, understandably. Gaming is a visual medium, and while some developers struggle with creating high quality visuals, failing to do so is a disservice to gamers. It's very difficult to recommend bad looking games. The developer chose not to do the job of a real game developer and create meaningful bespoke levels, narrative based gameplay progression and so on. Instead, they decided that "Procgen IS content!" and lazily tried to use procgen algorithms to create infinite, samey, repetitive, soulless levels, because that's a lot less work. As a result of this poor decision, the game gets tired and repetitive almost immediately. Developers must learn that procgen is a terrible substitute for creating real content. It should not be used…
