Decent indie game. Buggy at times but tolerable for me.

[h1][i]“Basically, run.”[/i] ~The Doctor[/h1] *SIGH* OK, let's start by looking at the screenshots. What do we see here? Yep. [b]Eternal Edge[/b] is an obvious [b]Zelda[/b] rip-off with its super-deformed (chibi) design coming directly from the [b]Nintendo DS[/b] remakes of the early [b]Final Fantasy[/b] titles. Even the logo here is an obvious [b]Final Fantasy[/b] rip-off, so... yeah. Do I have a problem with that? Kinda, yeah. I mean, this here is an indie game. Means that its makers were free to express themselves any way they wanted. Yet they've decided to mindlessly copy things from popular AAA titles instead. Yes, it's pathetic. But at the exact same time... I mean, come on. We all want something like this sometimes. Not a rip-off, of course, since nobody in their right mind wants [b]Sense of Right Alliance[/b] instead of the latest [b]Hasbro[/b] set, but a cute, casual game with, like, zero ambition. Something that lets you lean back and relax. That's exactly what [b]Eternal Edge[/b] promised. Score: 2/5 Blinding lights or bright white screens. Writing is (or translations? are) atrocious. Art style/direction is bad. Audio/sfx/music is okay. Lock-on is broken and linked to blocking. Hit-/hurt-boxes are bad.

This game is quite a buggy mess that does not seem to have any thought put into it. The visuals are very blurry and inconsistent, and the shaders sometimes randomly blow up and my whole screen glows bright white. The story is okay at best and many objectives for quests are not clear (where to go, what to do, indicator hints, etc) and it just feels ripped straight out of Zelda. The game tried having a slightly more complex combat system, with shields, mid-air dodges, bombs, guns, etc but really all you need to do is run around and spam the attack button to kill stuff. Combat is sometimes buggy because enemies seem to be able to freely phase through walls which really ruins the experience of actually fighting things. As well, the gun practically has no use other than certain dungeon bosses which require it or opening doors that can only be opened by shooting them. The only good thing about this game is the ost, which is quite nice and matches the theme of the map locations that you can visit, but otherwise, this game is completely unpolished. Tries to be Zelda. Fails miserably.

it's got a lot of cool things that are cool and it's awesome to see something like this made by an indie team. So obviously this has a lot of issues, issues I couldn't get past. Like ♥♥♥♥ the camera does not work, any input will do an instant set amount of movement, so there's no sensitivity to how much you push the stick and no deadzone range either, so if I shake my controller a bit it can mistake that for input. It was so intolerable I just put up with moving the stick to the direction I needed to go, peripheral vision be damned. it's probably the biggest reason I put this down, followed by a poorly done story, not necessarily an actually bad story, but poorly done. Then there's the actual combat, it's like if you had zelda lock on and basic attack combo, but there's no spin attack, no jumping alterations for the lock on, the little depth it had is just not there and it's especially not helped by how slippery it feels while the dodge roll feels like it sticks you to the ground. This does have top down classic zelda dungeons, that was really cool to find out, but it ended up just being locking me into a room, kill all the basic enemies by spamming x, move to next area, repea…
