Eternal Hour: Golden Hour

Ignore the bad reviews. The game is pretty good, fully voice acted, and has some fan service. Just a heads-up: I didn't see any nudity.

I was promised a mystery-themed VN but it was an empty promise.

Eternal Hour: Golden Hour is a free visual novel that works as a prequel to Eternal Hour, and I actually think it is a pretty nice way to get into the story. Instead of giving me one long adventure, it gives me two separate stories set before the main game. One follows Rin Fujimoto eleven years before the original story, while the other follows Yasu about ten months before it. I like having these two different perspectives because they show me parts of the characters' lives that I would not get from only following Yasu. Strings of Fate is probably the more interesting of the two stories for me. I play as Rin as she moves to Tokya and becomes Yasu's guardian, while also getting to know Megumi and gradually building a romantic relationship with her. I like that this story is more personal and focused on the characters rather than constantly trying to create some huge mystery. The relationship develops over time, and the difficult parts of Rin's life give the story a little more weight than I expected from a short free visual novel. Took me a while to finally make a review on this since I have been a bit disappointed and just wasn't sure how to go about saying how I felt. This is truly a great start to a game! However I downloaded and finished this game way back in 2018... we are now in 2026 and still haven't heard about any full release date at all. It's been wishy-washy for years now about maybe 2018 it'll release then it was stated maybe 2023, etc. I have been checking everything for any updates and just nothing of any help or use to any information about the game really. In January there was an update on the X account of just a member of the team coding the game in their car but mostly it's been reposts of stopping AI and not much about the progress of the game. I understand not having many people to promote the game and it being a very small group of people working on it but if someone has time to repost on the X account throughout the months, I think people who have loved or enjoyed this prologue to the full release game, deserve to have more updates then once every few months posting something, if that.
