A fun, nostalgic game from my childhood, especially memorable for it`s Persian dub. After all these years, I finally completed it, but in my opinion, it`s only really worth playing today if you have memories of it.

The story and dialogue are fun, the protagonist Fenimore Fillmore is very likeable, which reminds me of Herman Merman in Loco Motive, but the gameplay can be frustrating if you do not follow a guide. To me, this game is a typical old school point-and-click game: no hints, no highlighted interactable items, puzzles often rely on trial and error, reminding me why my younger self avoided this genre. In this game I collected tons of items, but I had to read the Devs’ minds to figure out what to do next. That said, the story is humorous, and the protagonist is charming. NPCs are memorable too like the man with the starfish beard, the sheriff who declares his independence and then admits his salary is paid monthly by the villain, even the horse has its own personality and sits down on the ground if you do not feed him a carrot. The voice acting is also well done, dialogues entertaining. The gameplay however, can be rough. There are simply too many items to pick up. And I had to search for dollars to buy essential tools, but I had no idea what they were for. Some puzzle setups are fairly clear like the girl lending you her dog for a signed portrait, the prisoner can forge a signature an…

Can't believe that I finally beat this game that I used to play as kid. Obviously this is an old game now, with all its cons, but still fun and very nostalgic to me.

Fenimore Fillmore: The Westerner is a charming, comedic point-and-click adventure that embraces the spirit of classic Western cinema while proudly adhering to the traditions of late-90s and early-2000s adventure game design. Developed and published by Casual Brothers Ltd., it follows the good-natured cowboy Fenimore Fillmore as he stumbles into a conflict between small farmers and a ruthless cattle baron, setting the stage for a lighthearted tale of justice, romance, slapstick mishaps, and exaggerated frontier heroism. The narrative never pretends to be gritty or historically accurate—its goal is entertainment, and it succeeds by leaning into playful caricatures, witty dialogue, and situational comedy. Every interaction feels like part of a larger, humorous theatrical performance, giving the game a distinctive tone that separates it from more serious Western titles. The gameplay structure is firmly rooted in traditional adventure mechanics—players explore environments, gather items, engage in conversations, observe details, and solve puzzles that advance the story. The puzzle design often revolves around inventory manipulation and creative problem solving rather than explicit inst…
