Freud Gate is an interactive story game about the story of dream and redemption.
Freud Gate, the "door of heart" in the game. Players will play as a spiritual mentor and help the depressed girl to find a breakthrough. The game is divided into two parts: the real world and the imaginary world. It aims at making the player realize that only by truly understanding the depressed people can the player help them.
The main gameplay is puzzle-solving and exploration. Each level in the game will have different puzzles, and only after solving the puzzle correctly can you enter the next level. Player's bad decisions may put the game into bad endings.

I don't know how to describe it, and can't see what it is, but only... an indescribable emotion. Like falling from the high, failed to struggle. But feeling released, and suddenly sinking to the bottom of the sea, suffocating.

I thought the game would end like the opening image, on a rooftop in the rain, but it ended up being more beautiful than I expected. While it does leave you with a message to reflect on suicide, the story makes it clear that there's room for books, leisure, and other things, but that medication comes first when it comes to depression. It frames depression as an illness, not something to be romanticized.1 found this helpful
A highly disturbing game that made me feel uncomfortable on many levels. The eerie environments, the mother in distress, and of course the subject matter. The main theme is depression, and the game expresses it effectively through its psychological horror. Some reviewers are complaining that they get stuck on the infinite train, but this is precisely the intent of the artist. Note also there are guides now and an in-game hint that tell you what to do. The music was already familiar to me, but hearing it in this context gave it a new meaning. They definitely fit very well with the endless emptiness and longing that, I assume, depressed people must feel. As a game it may not be very good due to its clunky controls and movements. But it is functional and doesn't crash. Freud Gate is more of a message than a game however, and an undoubtedly important one.1 found this helpful
Игра 'Freud Gate' – это увлекательное детективное приключение, в котором мы оказываемся в роли молодого Зигмунда Фрейда, расследующего странные события в Вене. Сюжет цепляет с первых минут, погружая в атмосферу мистики и загадок. Понравилась детективная составляющая с поиском улик, анализом персонажей и построением теорий. Графика выполнена в приятном, слегка мультяшном стиле, который хорошо передает дух эпохи. Саундтрек и озвучка создают нужное настроение. Несмотря на интересную завязку, хотелось бы чуть больше глубины в развитии персонажей и более вариативные головоломки. Иногда возникало ощущение линейности прохождения. Местами диалоги казались несколько затянутыми, отвлекая от основного действия. Однако, в целом, 'Freud Gate' – это достойный представитель жанра point-and-click, который сможет увлечь любителей детективов и тех, кому интересна личность Зигмунда Фрейда. Рекомендую к ознакомлению.
