About From Glory To Goo

Expand your colony in a hostile alien environment and ensure you can supply enough shelter, water and power to your colonists.

As your spacecraft is pulled in by the planet more Goo will be drawn to your colony. Hold back the waves and make the most of the time when things are quiet.

Recruit and build a variety of units, some unlockable through research or uniquely available to certain captains.

Expansion is the key to survival. Claim valuable resources, discover wreckage from previous doomed expeditions as well as native aliens to ally or destroy and other secrets to aid you in your fight.

More Features
  • Experience new strategic choices every time you play, with procedurally generated maps across different biomes.
  • Repairing and upgrading your colony ship is the key to survival. Send resources back into space to allow for new modules to be built like manufacturing zones, laboratories and an array of weaponry.
  • Choose from a variety of unique captains that gain experience and level up as the game progresses. Find and unlock new weapons, skills and passive abilities that will assist you in driving back The Goo.
  • Unlock more ships, captains and biomes when you complete objectives whether you win or lose.
  • Multiple factions with units and buildings you can use, ally or destroy depending on your captain and biome.

✦ AI summary

Players praise the game as an enjoyable and addictive strategy experience with fun faction variety and engaging progression systems that reward replayability. However, some find the UI unintuitive and certain mechanics tedious, particularly the hidden bridge-building feature and restrictive vision-based building limitations that feel like unnecessary friction rather than meaningful challenge.

This is one of the best games i've ever played and single handedly re-ignited my love for RTSes in a way that I did not even think was possible. Its the first RTS i've looked forward to the next campaign updates. Plan to return to after playing. Thought about making mods for. Try out all the new features of... everything. Its worth your money as it stands. It'll be worth it more later if the progress is anything to indicate. I will play every update and buy every DLC. Its a game that makes you constantly think about whether what you're doing is the most optimal way of actually doing things, similar to factorio. But its pace can be frenetic enough to satisfy the same quick thinking that starcraft 2 demands.

Still too many bugs, goo appear out of no where in the middle of the base causing you too lose half of it before you can get troops back in time. Give this game a few more years.

I love this game. I have been seeking something that scratches the starcraft 2 itch - rts with a good mix between macro, micro, and base building. This has all of those and executes them in a way that feels like a more streamlined version of sc2, with some differences in faction mechanics. I usually only play RTS for pvp and don't enjoy the campaigns, but this game has a wonderful campaign. The only thing missing is multiplayer / player vs player. I don't think this will be added because it would require extensive balancing changes, but it would make this one of my favorite games of all time. As it stands it is a great game already, it doesn't feel like early access. If you like RTS like sc2, command and conquer, or colony building games like rimworld, songs of syx, definitely check this out.

this game is what it is advertised to be, has 5 difficulty settings that can be changed at each level. lots of tech upgrade type things that make it interesting. the graphics are severely lacking and its dialogue method is annoying popups, but you can get past that because the gameplay is good.
