在捷南逃 (2023)

"在捷南逃" (aka "Escape to the South") is an amateur made Taiwanese love letter to public transport that takes the form of a selection of Adobe Flash/mobile app tier minigames stapled together with some equally mediocre visual novel narrative. Bearing in mind we're on PC here and this is competing with stuff like Baldurs Gate 3, you can kind of see where we're going here. What do you do in the game? Click through badly written narrative and play some minigames (ultralite platformers, QTE stuff... nothing of interest). There's no English translation for the game, but that's okay. The language of bad games is universal. So this looks like an old 1990's Adobe Flash game that you might play in a web browser, and the problem there is obviously Steam wasn't intended to try compete with Chrome and Firefox. If it can be done in a web browser, it's not even close to a cutting edge PC gaming experience. That's a problem. The graphics aren't great, a somewhat mismatched selection of mediocre 2D visuals and Flash tier sprites.
