✦ AI summary

Players appreciate Garda's world-building and gameplay loop of progressing through challenges to unlock abilities, but the game suffers from significant technical issues including poor hitboxes, collision detection problems that cause getting stuck, unclear UI feedback, and resource management problems like inability to discard items. Many mechanics also lack proper explanation or feedback, making it unclear whether actions like damage dealt are even registering, though some find it enjoyable once they push through the early learning curve.

HEY YOU, yeah I see you looking in the reviews for a guide, well I got one for ya, so, here we are, Garda. You got a few piles of sand and nothing else. Well, to get you started you can start by fighting a few waves, take care not to get too close to enemies, your sword reaches further than you think. After you purchase some extra time to explore, try heading to the right and exploring for a bit, make sure you watch the clock because it waits for nobody. Your main goal is to overcome challenge areas to unlock abilities. More on that later. Right now you are looking for small grey buttons to open the path forwards. Make sure you save some Greenite to make explosives as well because you'll need them to progress. Greenite and Diamonite can be obtained from certain monsters during waves, so make sure to keep an eye out because it despawns after awhile. Now im not gonna give you a step by step guide on how to go through each area, im just getting you started and you can figure out the rest for yourself. This is purely because I saw a lot of people who had no idea how to progress, me included. So once you accumulate a bunch of souls in your totem you can scroll down in the totem to revea…

Although I "recommend" this game, I must point out it's flaws Below average collision causing the player to get stuck on things, namely bridges. No way to trash items, my entire save is now defunct cause I left my drills running too long and too many items built up. Very poor feedback from the game as to if I've even dealt damage to an enemy. If there is something behind a menu button you click, you still destroy that thing. Honestly there are probably more, but playing this left me a little brain damaged. All-in-all though, I didn't hate this game, I had a reasonably enjoyable time.

This game would be much, much better after some polish. Hitboxes are weird, picking up resources doesn't work sometimes, choosing buildings with LMB can deconstruct buildings behind the UI, nothing tells you about the artifact controls, the totem UI makes it far from obvious that there's more stuff if you use your mouse wheel, unlocking an extra heart, whatever that means, doesn't seem to work, failing a "dark hole" challenge still shows the message hinting at success, eating chili peppers seemingly does nothing, and so on.
Before I played Garda, I had a small pp, no friends, no gf, depression, and no life. These things havent changed, but the game is pretty good
Good game and a vast world containing bits of information that make you question what you are. My only problems is that I get to on a part that freezes me and saves are not all automatic. It is hard at first but as you progress it becomes easier but forest parts are somewhat difficult due to hard to fully see hit boxes due to the part you could walk through and the part that kills you. Haven't finished the game completly so I still not know how to get drill though. But early game it is best to go through rounds until you see the brown storms so you can get greenite and then get buttons.
