It really is Ascension, which is a pretty good thing to be! As a solitaire style game it really works out well, great play pattern. It is a little awkward to just have a target score, and one could wish for modes with a little more life to them, but man! Solitaire Ascension which just works & provides a cool variety of cards to think about is a pretty elite product. If it's useful to anyone: Ascension is a deck building board game in which you start with a hand of generic cards which add 1 gold or 1 fight (or whatever it might be called.) There's a river of cards you can pick from which cost either gold, and join your deck and do stuff, or which cost fight and give you VP when defeated. That's how this works too. You have mulligans to turn the river over (since you're the only one picking from it) and your goal is to build a machine inside your deck which lets you churn a bunch of cards out of the river, generating VP along the way. I will note that it isn't super well optimized and despite being a little card shuffler runs my poor PC kind of hard which is unfortunate but still. 4/5 do recommend very highly. EDIT: Two notes which didn't appear on first run, neither are dealbre…2 found this helpful
If you enjoy tabletop games like ascencion or marvel legendary, this is a cute little standalone game, it has its flaws like menus or do not get a greater notice when a boss appears, but, the game structure is way solid enough, plus, it has a budget price, i'd say that if you want a card game, specially not a roguelike deckbuilder, give it a shot.1 found this helpful
Its a pretty good deckbuilder. Very satisfying building up a combo and sticking up correct cards together1 found this helpful
Excellent deckbuilder, total Dominion vibes. Progression is simple and fun. The quality of the visuals and audio is pristine.1 found this helpful
Deck building is fun but why trying to unlocking new card feel like such a chore in this game.1 found this helpful
Fun game. Nice artwork. Good tutorial. There's a bunch of different synergies between cards. You balance gold, attack power and gems to buy and eliminate units across from your hand. Eliminating units will give you various rewards. Meanwhile you must generate enough gems throughout a run to satisfy that difficulty's requirements. The boss cards show up at predetermined times in your run and depending on the difficulty that you choose there will be more of them. They don't really attack you or your cards like in typical card battling games, they debuff until killed. I would say it was pretty easy aside from the final invasion. I cut the last run a bit close on account of bad a few bad card picks that I made. It was also very short. I beat all of the invasions in less than 2 hours. I don't regret buying it despite the low amount of content. Hopefully this dev adds a few more things later on. Just be aware that it is fairly short at the moment.
