Gin - The Silver Wind

guys, its peak...... The main gimmick of this game is advertised upfront, the trailer tells you all you need to know about the controls. Restricted, methodical movement like this could easily get very annoying, but the game is designed in such a way that it never (or rarely) feels unresponsive, and there's enough breathing room in the level design and your moveset for you to slowly learn the best techniques to move around. Still, pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hard, beating this was a journey by itself. Particularly the last level, which is when the game starts throwing ridiculous ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ at you in an insane gauntlet of enemies and hazards. Despite this it's really fun to learn and make little routes to get through the levels properly, with enough trial and error. But what elevates this already solid base gameplay is the charming character designs, beautiful pixel art and unique soundtrack. The music fits very well with each level and is fantastically composed. Also very cute and expressive protagonist :> Not a very long game, but it's a satisfying amount of content, well priced, and i'd be happy to see some sequel or expansion some day.

THE GAME IS SO AWESOME! This game is really hard but its an amazing way that its test your skills on dodging, jumping and doing parkour The art is really Cute and really well made and the expresions are just amazing! And the soundtrack of this game its extremely well made, every level has extremely good music and really atmospheric and the boss battle themes are pretty amazing to hear! I hope to see more games Jackal In A Box, I totally recommend this beautiful game!

As brutal, punishing, and unforgiving as it is, I enjoyed what this retro platformer had to offer, even if it humiliated me every step of the way. Gin - The Silver Wind will chew you up, spit you out, dope slap you, and demand you get back on your feet and fight harder and smarter than before. The game takes the worst ideas from the NES era: time limits, uncontrollable jumping, and limited lives. It's not just difficult; it's frustrating. I can't recommend it to anyone except the absolute hardcore gamers.

I want to preface that I like this game but is very unfair and not in a fun way. For starters, your tornado move doesn't make you invulnerable the tanuki stomp move despite it making you invulnerable to everything else. Also said enemy has an insta kill if you get to close, which you won't know until it happens. It's the only enemy that has one (So far, I'm stuck on the 3rd level). The missiles it fires are also indestructible and all you can do is dodge them despite every other explosive being something you can either destroy or at least redirect. The checkpoints are also awkwardly placed. Some are placed after long stretches of platforming and a mini boss so if you fail then you have to do it all over again. Lastly, what's the point of the lives system? If you die several times in a run your penalized for it but you can gain extra lives in the level. So getting them and dying more hurts your overall score. Sorry but after playing Shovel Knight, I realized how annoying live systems are, especially when a game already punishes for death. Despite this, I recommend the game. Just letting new players know what their in form because the game has things it doesn't tell you.
