Overall this game was an amazing experience, not super hard like a lot of recent metroidvanias tend to be but still challenging enough to not be a breeze on a first playthrough. The art direction is incredible and while some of the animations do look a bit wonky at times for very specific animations not seen repeatedly I loved this game. For the casual player I would highly recommend this, however for completionists and achievement hunters like myself I would put a bit of a word of warning due to the difficulty spike in a few of the optional segments alongside one of the collectible aspects being entirely tied to rng which felt awful due to slow animation speed, spamming continue, and the huge amount of currency that on average would be needed to complete this. This, while definitely frustrating me, did not take away from my main enjoyment of the game as I understand anything that I actually had less fun with was all optional.1 found this helpful
Excellent game. My only complaint is the rollback when you fall into spikes or a pit. It often sends you way back, forcing you to replay a whole section from much earlier than where you actually got hit1 found this helpful
A good Metroidvania with great MV elements and overly hard platforming. Basically, this entire game revolves around pogoing; you have to pogo all the time, and there's even no double jump in this game, a crucial ability for 95% of MVs. The problem I had with this game stems from the fact that I don't like pogoing. It's not as bad for me as contact damage and parry-based combat, but still—I don't like pogoing; it's an unnatural activity for me, and I can't do it well, hence my huge problems with Hollow Knight and my decision not to buy Silksong. Getting back to Bo—most of the gameplay in this game revolves around pogoing, which makes the platforming elements very difficult. One region from this game—Sencho Bridge—is in my top 5 most frustrating regions in MVs. I died several hundred times there, and it took me a very long time to complete the entire thing. Unfortunately, Sencho Bridge is no exception, and is essentially the standard for this game. Most bosses require solving a puzzle to hit them in the head. There are very few bosses where the fight involves the classic dodge-to-punch. The combat in this game and the enemies are at an acceptable level thanks to the many option…
Good game, love it start to end... only thing when I completed the game my save file got corrupted on the cloud lol so it erased everything...
good
