Needed to take a moment to shout out this solo developer. This is a damn fine little indie gem that, sadly, seems to be completely overlooked at this point. That makes me sad, since you can really feel the love and care this dev put into his title. Fun gameplay that evolves as the game progresses, tight controls, nice presentation. Story was just enough to push the game forward but wasn't a high point IMO. The game definitely presents a challenge, but with the latest update, the dev added some QOL options to reduce the overall difficulty. They helped me immensely (completed the game using them) and are further proof this dev cares about his title and wants people to enjoy it. All the more reason for people to give it some attention - any attention FFS. My one complaint would be the hub where you select the levels. There are points where you have to complete a series of jumps from platform to platform to get to the entrance to the next level. You can fall during these parts - and it sends you back to a predetermined spot... which is generally too far back This was, strangely, one of the most annoying parts of the game. It's the level select hub - no challenge should be…

Super fun twist on the platformer genre, the art work was cool, and the story I experienced so far was super interesting. I didn't get to far though as the 'difficult' tag it's been given is well warranted - I even struggled with the tutorial! Despite that I still had fun and anyone who likes games to just be a bit on the brutal side will love it. Personally I would like the ability to tone down the difficulty.

I guess the first thing to say about "The Wind's Path" is that this is not an asset flip, it is not unethically made, it's a genuine and sincerely made amateur game on Steam. I think that, while genuine intentions alone are not enough to make a successful game, I'm surprised this wasn't more popular... the player count indicates this was a complete failure, and unfortunately the only reviews on the game are from generic AI slop review bots (note: those fake reviews aren't review manipulation on the part of the developer, there's some bot accounts that write AI slop reviews on everything). Taking that into account, let's dig into this game, find out what it is and why it failed. This is a very unique game... I've played more games than anyone else in the world, and I never really found anything quite like this (part of the reason I am surprised it's not more successful, from the novelty alone). Of course, just because an idea is a new one doesn't mean it's a good one. This is a top down platformer (yes, really) with a frankly annoying collection of gimmicks... and I think beyond just the very poor quality of Godot's 2D engine (which still, to date, has never been used to creat…
