Game Design so solid that I could still win despite completely and utterly dooming myself
tl;dr: I completely butchered the game's controls on accident, and despite unknowingly fighting with them the entire game, still had a lot of fun and was able to get past everything.

This game, which DeepL tells me roughly translates to "Sanae's Youkai Extermination", is a 2D Action Platformer where you jump around, shoot enemies, and fight the boss at the end of the stage. It's a simple concept, and you have a good amount of movement flexibility to help you along: infinite jumps that have a high-damage projectile attached, indefinite hovering, and a wind shield that lets you move faster and damages enemies around you (instantly defeating smaller enemies and some projectiles). Of course, that alone isn't the reason I'm writing this. The reason I'm writing this is that, within 5 seconds of starting the game, I effectively took a sledgehammer to the game's control scheme. Upon first launching the game, I was shown some text boxes that told me to press the keys for the above movement options. Unfortunately, this being a Japanese game without an English translation, the…3 found this helpful
What separates this from other Touhou Mega Man-style games is that the game uses Sanae's abilities to give her a unique moveset that's quite distinct from any character in standard Mega Man (such as Sanae's ability to infinitely jump and do damage from a jump). The abilities are utilized well, and the levels are designed around them. The standard platforming is good, albeit the level design can start to blend in at times. But, by far the best part of the game are the bosses. The first one is a simple tutorial, but each boss after that just keeps on getting better and better. The second to last boss in particular was a ton of fun, and took me quite a few tries. All in all, if you like Touhou and Mega Man, then I think you'll like this game. If you like Sanae, then I think you'll like it even more. Plus, supporting a smaller dev is always nice.1 found this helpful

Fun little Touhou fan made game. It is a mega man clone with its own interesting control schema. I finished this game once on the steam deck. Pros: - Nice control schema. Well like in any mega man game you can jump and shoot. This game allows you to also hover in the air and start running with the shield when the fire button is held. You also can jump infinitely and those additional jumps allow you to attack the enemy from above. In fact it is the strongest attack in the game so if you want to beat the boss well try to utilize that attack as much as possible. All of that works well with the game level and enemies/boss design. - Nice enemies/boss sprites. They are very nice and cute. I especially liked Parsee and Remilia (my beloved) ones. - Nice soundtrack. Well, those are fan made tracks that are based on the track from mainline Touhou games made by ZUN and his team. Well, it is nothing special but is good enough for this game. - Price. It is very cheap so even if you won't like it then it is not a big deal. Also you can finish this game below 2h period so you can even return it if you do not like this game that much. Cons: - No save system. I started playing this game very lat…
