About Gorytale
Gorytale is a fast-paced adrenaline-rushed FPS shooter set in a peaceful and unaware of impending wrath candy land with tons of excessive violence.
Gorytale features a cheesy story-line where players take on the role of an unnamed protagonist who wasn’t really the nicest guy while he was living. Unfortunately for him, his death sends him to his own personal version of hell. Survive the upcoming hordes of painfully adorable enemies and viciously ravage their lands!
Game features:
* Indescribably adorable characters and environment
* Ridiculously excessive levels of violence
* Absurd weapons
* Cheesy story
* Lots of one liners
* Banal music
If you happen to enjoy Duke Nukem, Serious Sam, Doom and Quake type of games and enjoy cheesy humor – Gorytale is for You!

another 1-note wacky boomer shooter. perfectly sufficient; absolutely nothing more than that. play this after youve played the rest of the run 'n guns.1 found this helpful
Game: "Have I gone mad?" Me: "I'm afraid so. You're entirely bonkers. But I'll tell you a secret. All the best games are." This is really hilarious. Gameplay is surprisingly solid, guns feel all right. The waves/hordes of enemies keep you really busy. Bought it for one buck but it would sure be worth 5. Only negative point: The nightcore/happy hardcore music from the menu is only in the menu... through action moments there is metal music. Although I like metal, for me it doesn't fit with the setting... So I flip on my own nightcore/happy hardcore playlist - perfect.1 found this helpful
Surprisingly good game for the price and silliness. Most creators don't take these silly games serious (I know, oxymoronic) so they end up short or super easy. This is actually decent. The gameplay is just as good as Duke Nukem or Doom and the fact that this is your character's Hell really fits with where Doomslayer or Duke would get put if they went to Hell.
Aight so at it's core, there ain't a lot here. The joke's kinda funny, but that's all there is to that. However, the mindless shooty shoots in the Arena mode are what keep me coming back and replaying, it's so fun just to find new strats and just shoot the enemy. However, it is unfortunate that after everything is fully upgraded there isn't much of a reason to use anything other than the RPG or the Cannon
As a gamejam it's pretty cool but as a 5$ game not so much. I didn't even see it was a gamejam before looking the trailer again. At the end it hit you with the ''to be continued'' classic and I was like ok, that's it? You can get way better games with much more content at that price very easily. I honestly feel ripped off and I wasn't expecting a lot from this, this feel like a demo, not a full game.
Bootleg Duke Nukem, but with extreme amounts of bugs.
