Gori: Cuddly Carnage

[h3][b]Gori Cuddly Carnage should not be this fun, but it really is. [/b][/h3] When I first stumbled upon it, it seemed to me like a cheap unreal engine asset flip and I'm sure you think the same looking at it right now. But underneath this first impression Gori, is a parody hack and slash full of over the top gore and fast paced action. It plays tight adopting the DmC scoring system, and offers some descent enemy and boss variety. The graphics looks amazing and the team really created a unique and colorful world which is such a joy to look at especially on an oled. Truth be told the story was basic and full of cringy-edgy jokes but I actually enjoyed it, for what it was worth lol.

A damn fine indie gem. Weather intentional or not, it successfully evokes the vibe of a seventh-generation console title in the best way possible. Once you get solid grasp on the mechanics, participating in this game's buttery-smooth combat and movement will feel as natural as breathing. Soundtrack is top-notch as well.

Devil Meow Cry Haven't finished yet (I'm on chapter 6), but I can already say this is a peak game made with love. Gameplay-wise, I can't say anything negative so far. - Movement on the hoverboard is super smooth (and fast when you boost). - Combos are very nicely animated. - Boosting turns regular attacks into power attacks that bring absolute power fantasy. - So far I've got slashing, bashing, shooting, launchers, spinning, and shield bash and finishers in the arsenal. (I wouldn't be surprised if there will be a Devil Trigger later lol) - Grinding on rails and wallriding is used to maneuver around arenas and charge power attacks And then there's enemy variety that you need to use an entire moveset to overcome, BUT every enemy can be dealt in multiple ways. You still need to prioritize certain enemies over others, but otherwise you have freedom on how to go through each encounter. And the presentation is great - notably the environment designs are delightful, each chapter getting its own theme (and sub-plot AND a gimmick). The music is awesome. The story is messed up but makes a great backdrop for visceral combat. Take a happy Pixar movie and mix it with uncanny horrors,…
