About Ground Pounders
Ground Pounders is a hex-based, turn-based strategy wargame. Inspired by classic strategy games like Panzer General, and steeped in the lore of the Sword of the Stars universe, Ground Pounders offers a new generation of gamers an updated taste of turn-based strategic warfare. Best of all, you can play it cross platform between desktop machine and mobile devices.

Ground Pounders is a somewhat uncertain attempt to make a hex grid turn based strategy game combined with a deckbuilder... and this lack of clear vision from the developer permeates all aspects of the game. As a cardgame, this makes a poor turn based strategy game... and as a turn based strategy game, this is a terrible deckbuilder. We really have the worst of both worlds here. The game is set in the lacklustre and uninteresting "Sword of the Stars" universe, which you'll be passingly familiar with as the developers shove this into every single game bundle and discount they can manage, either to try scrape a few more cents out of a franchise on life support, or just in the hopes that someone buying a game bundle will see one of their games and then suddenly everything will "Go viral". Spoiler: Nothing went viral. The technical implementation is really weak here, I'll get into the specifics later in this review, but the point is that the depth of the game is lost on the majority of gamers who are understandably turned away from the almost browser-esque graphics. If you did invest time in the game, which I certainly don't recommend, you'll still be disappointed. Unfortunate…4 found this helpful

https://youtu.be/Qxm0dhwj_Jk Overly complex may be too generous of a description as dozens of systems, actions, and reactions all compete for player attention without space to feel rewarding to engage with.4 found this helpful
I am 32 years old. My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old. When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand I desperately needed to ensure I could continue providing. Upon learning the severity of the self-inflicted damage, I became almost suicidal. Keep in mind that just a few months before this, I was the happiest man, with no history of depression or anxiety. I had never experienced anger outbursts, nor was I the type to break down and cry, but I was in a tough situation that truly prevented me from seeing the light on the other side. With nothing better to do, I looked for a game I could play WITH ONE HAND while recovering. Somehow, I stumbled upon this game and read some of the comments. I decided it was worth a try... I must admit I didn't beat the game, nor did I play as much as some of y…2 found this helpful
I actually found the game complex and by complex I mean one sided seems the AI has all the advantages and the game doesn't bother to conceal this, graphics are dated more of a port for tablet or phone but the game itself is fun if you can accept the fact this game will kick your butt, I had fun with it and definitely for a good price I would recommend it. 7/10
