A nice and poetic adventure through dark times, a reminder that there's always light at the end of the tunnel. I wish more games were like this!6 found this helpful
A short little platformer about a bird named Fla who's led through the darkness by a firefly fairy guide. I played with a controller (keyboard is the preferred method) and beat it in less than 20 minutes. This is a game very much steered towards kids, and I feel this game would be great for the autistic as well. Not only are you helping a bird find their way out of scary, dark thoughts, there are also items you pick up that (very loosely) demonstrate ways to cope when you're overwhelmed; You can't use the items in game, but items like them can be used in the real world. Where I feel this game fails is in the use of fire to get through the darkness. Don't get me wrong, fire is a great way to see through the darkness and get around, but when the fairy tells you to 'burn it all' alongside coping mechanisms to get out of fearful situations, I feel the over all message of the game can be skewed in a wrong kind of bad way. On that note, if you're a parent and looking for games your kid can play, I recommend playing it first or looking up videos before committing.2 found this helpful
Note: Even though its' a game aimed at young kids to show teach them to face their fears and learn how to solve puzzles. The hero only has a flashlight to see around and that light ain't much, similar to some horror games. 'Guide' is also a tiny bit anxiety inducing. 'Guide' is aimed at small kids and has a cutesy cartoony beautiful art style, though it can be a bit tricky to navigate and solving a few of the puzzles. Story: Fia got separated from the safety of her nest. That's where ya and the fairy fae come in, ya guide Fia, the baby phoenix, on her journey and teach her to face her fears. Review 'Guide' is a short game, only having 6 chapters. The art style is very beautiful. Despite that I was comparing it to a horror game, there's no serious killer monsters...Unless, ya count the environment and the eyes as such (Unlike, 'Drop Alive', you don't have to worry about the environments trying to kill you).1 found this helpful
