Great art, great idea, great design, great music, very interesting light switch mechanic. This game was so close to 5/5 recommendation. I loved it until a point. Now you probably wonder why I CANNOT recommend this game. This game has BY FAR THE WORST input lag and trashy unchangeable controls I have EVER seen in a game yet. There is like half a second input delay and I died 50 times in a row that lead me to give up in the 3rd level where shadows change you and you race against time in a constantly collapsing side scrolling platform. WHO THE F IN HIS/HER SANE STATE OF MIND PLAYS WITH WASD AND SPACE TOGETHER? If you are not allowing a damn controller in a most controller friendly genre ever existed, at least either allow players to choose a damn different input instead of forcing your crippled hand favorite. Arrow keys and space is better ergonomics like you really couldn't think that? What a disappointment because I really wanted to see the end boss fight or whatever the end this game had to offer but considering this was released back in 2020 it is guaranteed at this point they will never revise/optimize this game. A DigiPen classic, 9 out of 10 times they release utter crap uno…2 found this helpful

Not too bad for a small game. The movement was pretty choppy and lwk pissed me off
I laud the atmosphere and music as well-executed, yet the oddities of the platforming grew more and more trying as I ventured deeper. The platforms have an unexpected thickness that I was able to jump through and save myself from poor jumps; once the mushrooms were introduced, this strangeness was given more course of suspension, but overall the platforming was far more rigid and involved than I expected. I found it counter-intuitive to spawn with the lantern turned on, as the whole crux of the game is about conserving my light source. In the final chase level, I was made to discover that I can jump over the prawn enemies, yet even with this tech the pace of the screen was still set up for failure in a few areas. The game is a frontally-inspired Nerve mazer which attempts to add some mechanical tension to the solely atmospheric tension of its legacy. I would be receptive to that premise if it were executed smoothly, however CE (Custom Engine) games tend to have a skew towards art and music simply because tech and design is put under so much pressure to finish the skeleton before any assets even make it into the game. I think for as much as I appreciate variety and breadth of mecha…
