totally recommended if you're into puzzle games, beautiful gameplay but such a sad story for a little girl
I feel like the cozy environment of the game and its several reflections allow self-introspection; I Tuly belive that it helps you heal. The soundtrack is just beautiful, and the mechanics are very creative. Make sure to catch all the origami!!
It is one of the most creative puzzle-platformers I've played. The core mechanic of controlling both the girl and her shadow is simple to understand but constantly evolves with new ideas. Every chapter introduces fresh twists, so the puzzles stay engaging without becoming repetitive.
Shady Part of Me (SPOM) is a really good puzzle game. Switching between the main character and her shadow and the the light/shadow mechanics were used creatively. For the most part I didn't find the game too difficult and I was able to 100% it, though some of the puzzles later on felt quite devious (although I can't think of a single one that was unfair). I have mixed feelings on the story itself. I think I enjoyed the presentation of it more than the actual story. It's one of those stories that are intentionally vague to be esoteric and deep. There are a lot of game stories like this these days and personally I'm kind of tired of them. After thinking about it for a bit I think I have a handle on what the story is about but I couldn't say for sure. I know some people really like this kind of storytelling though and that's fine. For those people the story will probably land much better than it did for me. To be clear I don't think it's a bad story and it doesn't interrupt the gameplay at all so I'm not all that phased. SPOM has a great artstyle which it uses well. The music is generally good and fits the game's ambiance, although none of the tracks particularly stand…
Man this game is so good, THE PUZZLES ARE COOL. I like how it uses the 2d aspect of the shadows and the 3d world to interact with eachother, its sometimes kinda freaks with your brain but its so cool when youve done a puzzle. AND THE STORY IS AMAZING, I think its about a girl being scared of being judge by her choices or just being judged?? BUT I LIKE THE STORY. Anyways 10/10
It's okay. Not a fan of the story (or how it was delivered), but it doesn't get in the way of puzzles. A shame the best mechanic in the game comes in so late (the puppet), would have liked more levels with it.
