About Hands of Necromancy
You are a Necromancer: a lone sorcerer who seeks to grow ever more powerful and learn new forms of dark magic. You spend your days searching for challengers to fight, so you can hone your wicked craft. But while you destroy myriads of monsters, none of them seem truly worth the fight...
Until one day, all of a sudden, more and more dangerous creatures start entering your world. You know something is wrong; however, this might just be the opportunity you’ve been waiting for! It’s time to prove your might and show everyone you truly are the fearsome mage you always knew yourself to be!
Explore varied and wonderfully detailed environments - from lush countryside, deep forests, haunting cemeteries, vast castles, ice caves, smoldering volcanoes, and more - all teeming with danger to prove yourself against, as their denizens try their best to destroy you.
Wield devastating weapons, cast powerful spells and undergo gruesome transformations to vanquish your foes, using their own powers against them and bending nature itself to your will - don’t let your slain enemies rest, but curse them with undeath and make them serve you, Necromancer!
Use the Tornado Spell to toss your enemies aside, the Ring of Ice to freeze them solid, or even the Unholy Hand Grenade to blow them to smithereens!
Learn new transformations as you grow in power - become the Swamp Serpent to slither through tight spaces and breathe underwater, the Stone Breaker Golem to smash walls into tiny bits, the Hell Burner Demon to safely walk on lava; or even a Wyvern to soar through the air!
You will need to utilize all the abilities at your disposal to defeat the countless, sinister creatures in this metroidvania FPS, as you explore 21 varied maps split between 3 giant, exciting hubs!

I do like this game, although I agree with everyone else on the weapons and spells feeling mostly powerless. Cannot wait for Egyptian-themed retro FPS Profaned.2 found this helpful
Under normal circumstances, I'd write a negative review for a game that has no proper checkpoints, where I'm always lost no matter if it's my 3rd or 4th playthrough (believe it or not, I started nauseating and had to quit after running in circles for over an hour in a certain level and then for over half an hour the next level) and how it made me fall in love with a ring that gives you ice-based magic, since I despise ice-related attacks in games. I guess it's probably because it's kinda extremely fun and funky-looking.1 found this helpful
The gzdoom engine is really amazing and you can do so much with it! I am impressed by this piece of work that has a satisfying play style and grandiose maps with alot of challenging enemies.
I shall say it is very original and funny. I haven't completed heretic or hexen yet. So I don't have the right background to compare them. But I have completed wizordum which I liked very much. However, I must say this is even better. I like the transformations. And now that you can select the action hub type of gameplay it's not too much
The game is good. But graphical quality is worse than my mod's that I never finished working on- about halfway done. Your graphics are halfway done. its just offputting. 2D graphics even if they are pixel mess at low resolution, should still contain something else than few colours. enemy sprites are few pixels x few pixels. Even doubling width and height it would look spectacularly better. I want my graphics to look good. Even if it is based on Doom 1 (1993) style and resolution. Imp in that has a lot more pixels per imp than your imp in this game. Gameplay: Yes 9/10 Graphics: advanced Placeholders, score 2/10: tier system below No note that doom (1993) in this case (or duke nukem 3d if you prefer) is an absolute 10/10 in graphics 4/10 Wolfeinsten 3D (was super when it came out, but graphics still beat yours in detail, just using one color is kinda lame). I'm not doing score tiering above, but to tell that doom is 10/10 3/10 Basic Details, more can be seen 2/10 Better than just a static image, animated but looks like moving placeholders <----- YOU ARE HERE 1/10 *static image* 0/10 **No image (something else, maybe a book would be?)** If no image t…
Charmingly unpolished GZDoom TC that has that cheapo Witchaven/Arthurian Legend/budget Heretic feel that I crave. The weapon feedback didn't bother me like it does other reviewers, but is undeniably fairydust light touch. It feels much more like being a frail necromancer throwing spells around than Heretic and especially Hexen, and I think it gives HoN a unique feel. Impressively colossal level design at points (I am partway through part 2, where this really applies). Bonus points for OTT cheesy 'I got my local youth theatre drama teacher to do this' character voice acting, absurd. I'm not exactly discerning as I am a fantasy FPS junkie, but if that's your bag I would recommend. No real surprises, just a fun passion project with lots of charm and rough edges.
