Haunted Record

"Haunted Record" is barely a game... it's a "narrative experience", which of course means it's garbage... let's face it, when the developer can't even bring themselves to call their software a game, is it going to be worth playing? Of course not. What do you do in the game? This is a third person narrative mess, it's thankfully short, and when the best part of any "experience" is that there's not much of it... well, that says it all, doesn't it? The graphics aren't great. That's understandably be turn off for a lot of gamers, and it's a big contributor to the failure of the game to attract gamers despite having no up-front cost. Gaming is a primarily visual medium, and if developers want to succeed, they must understand that it's not an area for compromise. You deserve better than compromises. On the matter of pricing and value for gamers, most "free" games on Steam aren't really free. There's often nasty mobile app cash shops, or content locked behind DLC, or donations being requested, or any other number of shady pricing schemes that could mislead gamers, but in this case I'm glad to say this really does appear to be a fully free game. Game that will lift up your mood after listening to all the dialogues, story it has to say. There is a secret. I enjoyed this game. Did all 3 achievements.

What a sweet and melancholy game. As a Jewish person definitely love the story. Not many people talk about these kinds of things in games. Definitely a great little play! ALSO!! THE SECRET END HAD ME ROLLING!!!!

Very short sad visual novel game about a Journalist who goes to a house and learns there is a girl ghost in the house. As we search the house we hear the girl ghost voice talk to us but we cant see her. The girl ghost doesnt realsie she is dead or has died and thinks she is stll alive. We searrch the house for her and go throug books, notes etc. Eventually we find the girl ghost and learn of her passing. Sad tragic visual novel but nice art and voiceovers. A great free game that was well done :)

I recommend Haunted Record only because of the nice retro graphics. The game seems more like a tiny demo of a much larger project, maybe. The story has already been done before so don't expect anything new or original. I'm tired of the 'spirit can't pass on' trope, mainly because it has been overused and is not a reality. There are no spirits that can't pass on, or remain in the physical realm of this universe, except demons of course. Any time I have encountered a spirit that is 'stuck' in this dimension, they always turn out to be a demon masquerading as the former living person.

This is pretty cool. Other than some of the dialog feeling like it was too long or the fixed camera until the end of the game, there wasn't anything that felt bad. The map that is in this game would probably work really well for a horror game. 7/10. Short. Simple. Nice retro style.
